Anyone in this group filed a Case Inquiry? I'm starting to be really tired of seeing the same old message "Your case was received"... I'm thinking of filing one even if the processing time for VSC still says December 14th, 2015....

You should not take the case status on USCIS for gospel. Many have reported receiving  their approval notices and in some case GC without seeing a change in case status. I would inquire if I were you.

Some people who failed to successfully put in an inquiry online have gotten through by calling instead. Not saying you have to but it's an option in you want to...you may have to request a supervisor.

I think VSC is starting to move things up  a bit...there is some randomness about their approvals. We are seeing some February approvals so that tells me the January ones will be wrapping up soon. The message on the USCIS site does not get updated often and more are getting the letters of approval while the old message remains. Keep hoping and not loose patience. The approvals are very near.:jest:

Hi everyone

I have been on this forum for 3 years as a silent observer. Finally decided to register today. I am a January 2016 filer and i had an info pass appointment on February 13th 2017.

I have been told my case was assigned to an investigator as of January 23rd of 2017

In addition when asked about the extension letter the officer told me that it extends the expiration date on the green card for a year. It is not a year from the receipt date on the letter.

Hopefully everybody will be approved soon best of luck to everyone

I just tried to make inquiry about my case online and this came up "

Your application or petition is currently within the posted processing times. An inquiry may not be created at this time. Further information about recent processing times can be viewed on the uscis.gov webpage.

If you have other questions regarding your application or petition, contact USCIS Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY)."

"In addition when asked about the extension letter the officer told me that it extends the expiration date on the green card for a year. It is not a year from the receipt date on the letter."  - - - - My 2 years GC expired last year April 10,2016, so does that mean the extention of my GC will be up to April 10, 2017?  I always thought its based on Receipt date :)

Yes as i was told your letter extends your green card from its expiration date so yes it will be April 10th of 2017.

The processing times have not been updated just yet on the uscis website.

its quite frustrating to be honest.

Hello All! I came home to a letter in the mailbox today saying our case has been approved! Such a relief after so many months of waiting. The letter is dated 2/10 but just arrived today, our online case status has not yet updated. For those still waiting, hang in there! The approvals are near : )

It looks like they updated processing times for VSC, so I was finally able to submit a case inquiry. It says I should hear back by 3/11. I'll keep you posted!

How do you know if your case is outside the "normal processing time?" I'm a May 2016 filer and I'd like to submit an inquiry, but I'm not sure if mine is outside the normal processing time or not. Thanks.

You go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do and then you pick your service center and look at the line that corresponds to the petition you filed. There should be a date on the right hand side. If you filed before that date, then it's outside processing times!
