My husband came here on a C1/D1 Visa (Crewman's). Our lawyer has advised that we have a strong waiver case but we are ineligible to file stateside. He is advising us to leave the country and then file the I-601 abroad.

Of course, we would prefer to file stateside and are seeking other opinions but in the meantime was wondering if anyone else with the C1/D1 visa has filed an I-601A? and has it been approved?

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
