Fatwa No. 64, dated Jan. 29, 2015, and issued by Islamic State's Committee of Research and Fatwas, appears to codify sexual relations between IS fighters and their female captives for the first time, going further than a pamphlet issued by the group in 2014 on how to treat slaves.

Among the fatwa's injunctions are bans on a father and son having sex with the same female slave; and the owner of a mother and daughter having sex with both. Joint owners of a female captive are similarly enjoined from intercourse because she is viewed as "part of a joint ownership."

The fatwa also instructs owners of female slaves to "show compassion toward her, be kind to her, not humiliate her, and not assign her work she is unable to perform." An owner should also not sell her to an individual whom he knows will mistreat her.

Only the owner can have sex with female slaves, he is not allowed to share her with others

Own two sisters? You can only have sex with one of them unless you then choose the other - then you have to stop with the first.

Again.. what bothers me the most is the news media purposely leaving out facts about a story for the sole reason of it not fitting a certain political agenda.

Yeah I saw that - the one official that initially mentioned the word "refugee" while talking about the attacks and was immediately put down by the mayor in public seconds later for doing so is the one that is fired. Crazy.

Fearful of stigmatizing migrants as potential rapists and playing into the hands of anti-immigrant politicians, most European countries have avoided addressing the question of whether men arriving from more conservative societies might get the wrong idea once they move to places where it can seem as if anything goes.

Both. I think they shouldn't be letting people in who are more prone to criminality to begin with. But, if they insist on letting these people in they need to be honest about the risks they are importing. Norway is implementing a solution to a problem they welcomed. My preference is: don't welcome the problem to begin with.

in norway's case it seems preemptive. so they are implementing a solution to a potential issue. seems a far better approach than ignoring it all together.

well, from your view it would be preemptive. to others, your view is morally reprehensible. thankfully there are plenty of people in the world that would like to help those in need, especially migrants and refugees, and are not afraid of all foreigners of one religion over the criminal actions of some.

I think we simply have a massive difference in how we see immigration.

I don't think any country owes any non-citizens access to it unless it is bettered by their existence. Outside of asylum given in very limited circumstances, nations should only be accepting immigrants who have something better to offer than the native population of the host country, be it a skill set or money or something else that benefits that country. I completely oppose the seemingly unlimited admission by countries like Germany to anybody as long as they have have a pulse. These poorly educated immigrants do not adjust well, they put tremendous stress on the economic and government services. Germany just isn't better for it.

What you call morally reprehensible is a very common view. Even among the tirelessly left wing Canadian population 60% of the population are against admitting even 25,000 Syrian refugees.

I don't necessarily agree.

I do buy the idea that if you grow up in an environment where women are your property, you believe it to be right because that's just "how it is." To put it into perspective, women did not have the right to vote in any "democratic" country until a little over 100 years ago. It didn't become common until about 80 years ago.

Today, we view any system or culture that denies women the right to vote as backwards, and far into the "wrong." But I don't necessarily believe that men in the mid 1800s consciously knew it was wrong. Rather, I'd say they didn't know any better, because that's just "how it is" and there was no historical precedence to suggest it should be otherwise.

Likewise, if you're raised in a culture where women are required or pressured into covering up so as to not appear as "fair game", you'd be quite confused seeing women walking around in tight clothing, unaccompanied by a male. If, in addition, you have no formal education and have had little or no exposure to outside cultures, I'm not surprised that you would struggle to adjust to the notion that drunk women are not "fair game."

In that sense, I think the far left has shot itself in the foot for decades, particularly in Europe. Rather than attempting to absorb and assimilate people into the general culture, there has been a narrative and (probably genuine) belief that people would just leave their medieval practices at home. When statistics indicate that this just simply isn't true in many cases, the debate has been shut down and silenced as "racist."

The U.S. largely hasn't had this problem in the same magnitude as Europe has. Without having any sources to back it up, a guess would have it that the U.S. traditionally has had a lower tolerance for political correctness or using "cultural differences" as an excuse for special treatment or for committing crimes. Hence, the perceived vast differences that existed in immigrant communities in New York or Chicago 100 years ago are largely washed out today.
