So happy to have found this forum... my fiancee and I filed in January and we are waiting patiently to receive our NVC case number... called them today to check in and was told it can take up to 42 days since we received our NOA2 (March 18). Pretty bummed to hear it might be that long. How often should I be calling to check back in and try to see if we have been assigned a case number?

We received our NOA2 on the 16th and I wasn't even going to start calling until April 4th as that would have been 14 business days. I ended up calling today on a longshot that they'd received it as Canada recently changed their K1 process and now only does K1 interviews in Montreal for all files received by NVC after March 31st. I was keeping my fingers crossed that we'd get lucky as Vancouver would have been much more convenient (and affordable) for us, but unfortunately no luck as they haven't received it yet. It looks as though it's taking a bit longer than 14 at the moment so I'll probably call sometime mid next week to check again and just keep preparing for our eventual Montreal interview.

We have the same NOA2 date, as well! We called NVC yesterday but they didn't have our case yet. We're going to call on Wednesday/Thursday next week - hopefully they have it by then. Please keep us updated!

I'm not positive but we might be doing our interview in Canada as well (Fiancee is on student visa in Canada but citizenship in Guyana, South America). Hopefully with all applications going to Montreal now, it won't be too long wait of a wait for interviews. Please keep me updated on your status! Our NOA2 date was March 18. Called NVC yesterday and they didn't have our case as yet. Will be trying again Wednesday or Thursday next week.

I hope you're right about the wait, though from what I understand, the wait in Vancouver wasn't bad at all! Montreal is apparently notorious for being slow with paperwork. I'll also be calling Wednesday or Thursday. For now we're just making sure we have absolutely everything ready to go so we can send our Packet 3 as soon as Montreal has our info. Good luck!

I have look at this form since I filed on January 28,2016 but decided to create an account today, because i believe I made a mistake. I got RFE, and am the petitioner who is the US citizen, on the I-797 form they had A# there and I accidently put the A# on the back of the passport photo of me. i'm just wondering is that bad or they going to reject the application because of that, I need some inputs.

thanks
