NVC update; still no sign, though it appears yesterday was the start of the 4th March approvals, so that makes sense...

I was still quoted the 35 days, if that makes any difference to you Yalda, may have just been incorrect info you were given? Either way, keep trying everyday... roll on Monday.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy Canada.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Canada. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Canada and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience.

Get the Canadian K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

I just called NVC to see if they received my case and still nothing, this time the operator gave me not the usual wait for 35 days but wait for 70 days oO I was like ####### in my head. I do not understand why it takes so much time for them to send the case compare to some who got their case received in a week or two.

it looks like NVC is getting back logged. This happened a little over a year ago. It took 2-3 months for Case numbers to be assigned. It was awful. I hope they get it together soon.

I-129F approval date: March 4th, called NVC this afternoon, was told that they have not received the case from USCIS yet. Called USCIS Military Hotline, was told that they were only able to see the case was approved, but could not tell whether it's been sent to NVC or not.

OMG... I just opened my app and tataaaaa case approved! We had rfe and on monday the app was saying they received our stuff and they will work on our case again now. Wow that was pretty fast! Good I'm so happy!

On page 73

This is so disappointing! Vancouver is only a two hour drive for me, and a short (inexpensive) flight for my fiancé. Now we have to head all the way to Montreal? That is a HUGE difference. The story on the site says that they'll still process any receive before March 31st. We're right on the cusp. Fingers crossed that's where ours ends up.

They have five months to complete the processing of your initial application before they will ever take an inquiry from you. You state you are only two months into this. Calling is only going to get you the same answer as the one I just gave. Have some patience or you are going to have a nervous breakdown. Just relax.

Every case is different. Yours seem to need more vetting then others and others need more vetting then yours. Just how things work.

I have not received the NOA2 approval. its been over 2 months and have not heard a beep

petition sent Jan 15th received hard copy 01/21/2016 showing receipt date 01/19/2016......I want to call them and ask.

feeling frustrated!!!
