Exactly. People are of course still working, but depending on the workplace and the manager, sometimes there's flexibility around leaving a bit early, etc to accommodate holidays, travel plans for family, work-life balance, etc. And of course people aren't all taking the day off, but people do have vacation time that they'll use and this is a common time of year to use it as their children are off from school. I understand frustration as people are waiting, but I also think it's important to remember that the individuals working in these offices have lives and families as well. I'm keeping a potential delay in mind as I wait for my case number from NVC. Just thought I'd make others aware that it was a possibility, not a certainty.

I work at the business office at a hospital and your right a lot of people do take vacation around holidays. Our director has the option to use "flex time" meaning we could close at noon (sadly she did not take the option so I'll be working a full day haha). But I'm hoping a lot of January filers get their NOA2s because it means my day will be closer haha!

quick question, how long before you can call USCIS to check status on your case?

I sent my K1 petition back in 01/15 and received the confirmation that they got package 01/19/16 NOA1 ...I have not heard anything :(

If you call you'll probably get the common response of 5 mos. because that is their normal processing time. Even though we know they're processing right now at an average 45-60 days, but their "normal" is 5 mos.

So sorry to hear! Ours was received 1/19 also and was approved on 3/4. I never got an email or text notification for the NOA2 or approval despite having received them on the NOA1.

Have you created an account? our NOA2 was received 3/11. So have faith! Could just be delay!! Fingers crossed for you!!!!

I received my RFE today.. a little confused and pissed because my first petition never asked for this type of waiver request but this one is. I will be posting a copy of it tomorrow to get input from other VJ'ers familiar with IMBRA extraordinary circumstance waivers.

we missed that too...I guess Im waiting for a RFE notice now.. =(

:( I was super thorough with filling everything out and we checked it multiple times. I was positive that was a section I didn't need to complete. It's a very easy fix though, so don't worry! They just sent me a paper explaining the issue and put a "yes or no" thing with a checkbox, and that's it. No extra documents needed!

Maybe they need more proof or something. I was worried they would ask me for that, but we sent in lots of photos of us and our families together.
