You can set up the interview regardless of having the packet. NVC doesn't send you anything. I never received and packet 3 or 4 on my first submission.

NVC - sent it straight to CUBA and I waited a week and set up my interview. Cuba never notified me they had the packet nor did they notify my fiancé. We had to guess at everything when it came to what to do next and where to go. Lucky there were a lot of helpful people here.

There really is no packet that they send to you, you just need to get your packet ready that you will take to the interview. If you have your DS form complete and everything else required like medical, police reports then I would set the interview up right away.

best of luck

But on the Hong Kong Consulate Site, She needs her letter to request the clearance and physical. So I guess that's where all of this gets confusing. I know she needs to go pay for the DS160, and then we should be ready to go.

Be sure to check the consulate info first though, because some send a packet 3/4 and others don't.

yes MUmmle is correct- some consulates are different. I know for Cuba we had to complete the DS160 form first, to set the interview, we also had to have the interview confirmation page with code to get a medical done.

So ready up on other people who went through the same consulate as you and their site for guidance.

they say 5 months is the average. You can't put a case inquiry in until after the 5th month. According to the site thus far they are only working on Jan 28th, but if you look at processing times

Your NOA1 is Feb which they haven't started on yet.

They are still working on Dec files -

I've been keeping track of the numbers on this site that change. I know there are other sites with numbers as well but this is what I have.

As of 3/14 to today 3/18 They have worked on (this is all depending on people updating their timelines cause I use the VJ timeline for these numbers).

Nov they only approved 1 case

Dec they went from 54 to 48 so 6 cases

Jan they went from 132 to 113 - 19 cases but there were a lot of RFE's that went out from 3/9 to current date - 8 that I counted.
