I just found out my fiance (the beneficiary) got a traffic ticket that he hasn't paid...do you guys think this could delay or prevent him from being approved or being issued a visa? I told him I would rather pay it and be safe but he insists it won't conflict lol

I'm still waiting to find out what our RFE is for. It didn't arrive before he left for the airport and he'll be here for 9 days as of tomorrow. His mom is going to check the mail for us and let us know what it is and we'll deal with it when he goes back home. I guess we'll be delayed by some 10-11 days but I'm glad to be seeing him so it makes it easier

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should move over to your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Colombia.

Those in this thread, are applying from various Embassies around the world and there are different process for each. So what works in Russian, Philippines or UAE may not work for those processing through Columbia. VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in the Colombian and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. He should be good to go, as they don't bother with traffic tickets. But if there is other "things" (DWI, vehicular man-slaughter, drugs to name a few) involved with the traffic ticket then yes it could be a problem.

They will not be asking for your 129-f packet as they have everything scanned into their computer.

Yep I am taking a break from worrying for the next 9 days. Just hoping his mom will check the mail today and see if our RFE arrived so we can know what it's for.

Today is the 10th working day since approval. (though, that's including the approval)

Thinking about it, I think it's likely they send all the weeks approvals in bundles to NVC, on a Friday (maybe?) So, perhaps it's logical they may send it today? And it'll be received next week.

Who knows. Other ones seem to have got the number on the 14th working day, so I'll hold out hope that by next Friday I have it.

Though all the horror stories about NVC not receiving the case are not helping my nerves.
