Anyone who has a fiancé in South America, or specifically, Brazil get an acceptance? I'm thinking mine is in someone's "I'll get to it later pile" because I was 100% confident I sent my petition perfectly.

My fiancee is from Guyana, SA but currently in Canada on Student Visa.

I'm on Day 56 here and still no NOA2. I figured his status of being in Canada on Student Visa will take some time but it feels like forever!! With all this talk about passport photo sizes, I think we might get an RFE. Even though I followed VisaJourney's guideline to a T, I remember thinking his passport photo was a little off (he got his done in Canada at the pharmacy). Smh. Yikes!

Yes someone from Brazil had an approval in like 2-3 weeks from their NOA1 date. I remember seeing that one.

Well, it makes sense that it would maybe take a tad longer for FBI clearance when the foreigner has been to the U.S. before... I mean, for the sake of national security and all hahaha :rofl:

That's probably it though... they just want to make sure the foreigner hasn't been in trouble with the law during their stays/visits over here :) Here's to positive vibes everyone! :thumbs:

I'm on Day 53 and I paid rapidvisa to make sure my petition was ok. I don't know what it could be but I just want to hear something back!

I'm on day 51 here, my fiance is in Panama. Hopefully we will get some good news soon.

10 November 2016: NOA2 (only 294 days!)

No I have an NOA1 date of 4 Feb and I have a deployment coming up in July which I asked for expedite and still no word yet. Of course I think my lawyer screwed up with the expedite request so maybe that's why. Anyway, I'm patiently waiting too and hoping I can get the whole process done before July.

I'm REALLY REALLY hoping we don't get an RFE and it's just taking longer than usual for whatever reason.

Does anybody know if they take longer than usual if the foreign beneficiary has been to the U.S. before, such as in my case.... my fiancée has come to visit a number of times using her tourist visa. Maybe they take longer for security clearance? Also, my name doesn't help either - it's one of the most traditional, common names like ever! :rofl:

I got my Noa2 in 44 days and I've been to the US like a million times, sometimes for 11 months in one year lol. I'm from Canada. I'm not sure it really matter, maybe you just got someone who's slow to process your application.

If you're military, I'd probably make sure the expedite request was done correctly. On top, maybe try calling in and make it known you're active military, maybe they'll push you thru quicker.

Maybe they try to complete a certain percentage from certain areas. So maybe they try to keep it somewhat even from each country or region so maybe thats why they slow down some and speed up some.

No they do not do that. January and February are always more busy. I guess people have been together over Christmas and a lot have been proposed to and/or they just choose to do the application together and sent it out those two months. Other then that there have been Holidays slowing it down too.
