I just hope it gets to him before he flies here so we can start sorting it out. I've a feeling it's his photo is the wrong dimensions as when we applied for his passport they rejected the photo and he used the same one for the application...

Yeah I've read that quite a few people get RFEs because of old passport photos, so that's what we're thinking. If your fiance couldn't use his photo on his own passport it probably won't work here either :/ but at least that's easy to fix.

Okay update on my status. I am one of those impatient people who doesn't like waiting, so I called the NVC every day to check to see if the package had arrived since the NOA2. So that tells me to go back on my calling spree next week. Just keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for everyone because I know we all want the same thing, to get approved as quickly as possible. Good Luck and God Speed to everyone.

I wonder how many cases they process per day. Playing around with receipt numbers, I've noticed they had some action on cases 300 numbers before mine but not after (mine is 431 and the last case I saw action on was 131). Hopefully that means NOA2 will come soon!

Yeah I've read that quite a few people get RFEs because of old passport photos, so that's what we're thinking. If your fiance couldn't use his photo on his own passport it probably won't work here either :/ but at least that's easy to fix.

Well when I was in the US at Christmas we went to riteaide to get the picture taken. I came back to England 9th Jan and we had applied by then. He applied for his passport just after I left and so we didn't know that his passport photo wasn't right. The way they took it made his face look really big, I just assumed that if they were certified to take passport photos that they knew what they were doing. But when he went to the post office as he's not been out of the US before, they rejected the photo and said it was wrong. I know mine was right as I have 3 spares here so I measured it. But his face took up the whole picture. I won't go to riteaide for photos again. If he gets stuck and can't find somewhere then we'll have them done here at the visa center near where I live and I'll over night it via fedex or UPS to the US. It'll be expensive but honestly I don't care. I just want to make sure everything is done right.

He is fine, not stressed at all. I was really upset yesterday, but I'm ok now because I know the letter is on it's way and we will deal with it as soon as we can. I'll still be able to move in time, I just may have to book my flights and see if it's transferable if I have to change it and how much the fee would be if I have to do that. As my fiance said, it's just a small hicup on the road to us being together and he'll fill out any amount of paperwork it takes for us to get to that point. It won't stop our wedding date as we planned for October anyway and my daughter should still be able to start school in August so I'm going to stop upsetting myself needlessly as I was very stressed up until now.

I freaked out when we got the notification, too. He was more calm but still upset. My fiance and I are frustrated because we're both out of the country so we have to wait a couple weeks to even know what they want from us. Oh and yeah, rite aid is super ghetto. Where was this rite aid? I'm from CA and every one i've been to there has been awful. When I renewed my passport last year, I went and had it all done at the post office. They'll take your photo and do everything at the same spot, then you just have to wait for it in the mail. And when I got my Polish Visa, I had my photo taken at a "certified" photography place down the street from the consulate. It was expensive but worth it to know it would be accepted. Feel free to PM me if you want to vent or chat!

It was the riteaid near where we live. We are in KY so a bit far from CA really. We won't ever use them again for photos. He had his passport photos redone at the postoffice but they are all by appointment so I am going to call and see if passport photos are by appointment or if he can get them done anyway because we will be cutting it close to getting the RFE until he visits as he is flying over here on Thursday next week and getting here on friday and staying for 9 days :)

I am just glad it arrived. I didn't get any emails or texts, so I don't know if they notify you when it shows up. This is why I am glad I called. Also, if he has to get them taken overseas then he can send them via email to someone back in the states. That's what my fiance did. He got his taken, sent it to me via email, and I printed it at Target.com because they have a passport specific format...I believe Walmart also has this option on their website. Just an option versus overnighting it :)

Good idea, but you'd have to go bmget photo paper if you're printing it from home. Or maybe you can pick it up in the store?
