I use to think this would be an easy process. First time going through it, it was rough waiting for my NOA2 which took 7 months and then 3 months after that for the interview only to be denied. Then filing again getting sent to CSC I was excited thinking this would be quick and I could get my congress person involved to speed things up. But I still have yet to get my RFE - which is going to delay things by at least 2 maybe 3 weeks.

Which is upsetting because current wait time for interviews in Cuba is 4 months. First available apt as of TODAY is July 10th. By the time I go through all this the next available apt won't be till Sept. I am getting so upset.

I paid $450 for his medical the first time around and it's only valid for 6 months. So come May it will have expired.

I thought I was going to get lucky and get an apt before then but as it stands.. I am not going to get an interview till Sept if not Oct.

Medicals take 2-3 months in Cuba. I mean I think I am going to lose my mind.

Everyone stuck at an easy consulate - feel grateful and blessed you are not stuck in a country that has bad relations with America.

Okay rant over...

Have a Happy Tuesday and let's pray we see more approvals!!!!

What happened the first time around when you got denied ? Hopefully the situation has changed this time ?

apparently for CUBA the petitions MUST be present on Fiance Visa's - otherwise 98% of them are denied. I didn't know this and was denied because I wasn't present.

They said it wasn't a bonafied relationship. Even though the consulate told him we had PLENTY of Evidence - It was a mixture of our emails, and him not knowing but a few words in English.

Very upsetting.

We were approved!

Our NOA1 date (on the notice) was January 14th.

The app and the USCIS site both showed it was received on January 12th.

The above info is for informational purposes for others ;)

We're just happy it was approved.

Congrats to others who've been approved and hoping it happens soon for the others that are waiting.

congrats

Not sure how everything is moving so quickly but we sent our 129-F petition in on January 6th and it went through the CSC. After our NOA2 on February 25, I didn't contact the NVC at all because it said to wait 30 days (I like to follow their rules) and knew that if they were accepting us in New Zealand... well it's a long way for things to be sent. By some miracle we just received Packet 3 today (March 9). Overwhelmingly grateful that we are processing at the consulate in Auckland New Zealand where we are currently living together (and where I am in the process of extending a visa of my own...oy vey), though my fiancé is from Scotland. Not sure if anyone else has that added challenge of living in a country where neither of you are residents but it seems to be working out okay.

Good thoughts going out to everyone :) Here's hoping I can keep my wits about me through all of this paperwork!

Has anyone with a NOA2 as of 23 February 2016 heard from NVC saying you package has been received yet. When I call I they only say it takes up to 35 days to receive the package. I just want to see If anyone else has heard any different. Thanks

Any progress for you? Manage to get the number from NVC as yet?

Nice one, so that was a little over 2 weeks for you to receive the letter from the embassy? That's not bad going, since it usually takes up to two weeks for NVC to receive and send on.

NZ must not get many applicants and have a quick turn around? At a guess.

Same here. We are on day 56, and I'm starting to become paranoid, thinking something is wrong with the petition. There are people on this forum that say to relax, we will get a response, but it's hard when you have no idea what's going on with your petition. Is it lost? Did something come up during background checks? Do I have a slow adjudicator?? You just don't know! My fiance and I are currently a bit of a getaway if we can afford it, because this process is driving me crazy

I abosolutely understand your feeling.

We were getting worried also and then I woke up Tuesday to an alert on the app.

Hopefully your waiting ends soon.

Honestly if he wasn't coming to stay for 9 days I'd be miserable. I can't sleep and I keep waiting up at the time they update the system every day to check (early in the morning here) It's sad I even know what time they update the system. I wish we'd applied in December now as I probably would of heard back.

Honestly I stopped coming on here for a few days because I needed a break, seeing people that applied weeks after you approved as happy as I am for them, it's making me paranoid that something is wrong with my petition.

That's awesome! You can move on to the next step and hopefully get your visa soon! I hope we get a response soon as well!

Omg I understand! When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is check to see if there is an update on my case. Then I check it a few more times during the day, and one more time before I go to bed. I know checking that many times is probably useless, but I keep thinking maybe it will change at a random time of the day. I think if I had my paperwork with me, I would've sent in my petition while I was in Panama in December.

And I definitely understand about being miserable, it's hard! My mom just told me a few days ago that she is proud of me because she doesn't think she would be able to go through something like this. It sucks because he can't get a visa to come here, and it will be very difficult to get a visa to go to Venezuela, not to mention dangerous, so we have to pick countries that don't require visas for either of us....

I got two updates through the tracker, one at 00.30, one at 4.30. And the emails came through an hour later.

I know how you feel, like Ed n Chris, I was getting impatient/worried on Tuesday, to the point I was getting rfe'd/rejected in my sleep haha.

I also must have found at least 4 things I was expecting a RFE for the amount of times I rechecked the documents we sent.

Congrats Ticked, now you join the rest of us as we wait on the next step. I know I love having the NOA2, and it should all be down hill from there, but geee can we speed part of the process up LOL. Hurry up and wait, its the Govt way!!!!!!
