Hey everyone. We're happy to share with you the good news that arrived on leap day. We received a text notification from the USCIS at around 10:00PM saying our case has been updated. So we logged onto our account on the USCIS website and found the best news so far. "My Case was Approved" -Yay!! ^.^ NOA1 date was January 13, 2016.

We're going to start preparing the paperworks for the next step. My fiancé is going to send the duplicate copy of our 1st packet to me soon. Just a few steps closer to our happy ever after.☺

There is no need to send the packet that he submitted to USCIS. There is nothing in the package that will be used for the interview except maybe pictures. Save your money. If you feel the need then have him scan the documents and send to you in a PDF file and if you need something just print it off. If he sends you the package and the supporting documents for the interview (I-134 stuff) it will cost you $150 bucks by FedEx.

Next recommendation is to get the phone app. It will give you the results sometimes before UCIS gives them to you. This way it's faster and you don't have to fire up that old computer and search the website for your intended news. Details are below. The app is free and so is the service. Free Free Free.

Except for some earlier filers, like me I hope our case hasn't fallen through the cracks. It's too soon to say though

Surely it can't have, you updated some details on it though, so they have it.

It'll just be a victim of the law of averages, some are quicker, some are slower.

Yeah, my fiance and I got our hopes up thinking we'd be approved by the end of february, judging by the averages. Just my luck, haha. But you're right, they changed the error promptly so they at least have it on a desk somewhere. The longer it takes, the more anxious I get. It seems like the more thorough officers take longer and send out more RFEs. :/

Yea, that's natural.

I'm hoping it's not more likely for RFE's, maybe it'll be someone who's new? Or... Slow... who knows. Maybe it just takes longer for security checks, since they have access to more information streams from European countries, they are at the mercy of their times coming back?

Though... quite what they check I don't know... It's mostly relating to the USC at this stage, so maybe criminal records? Or something.

Aside from that it's mostly just checking for relationship evidence...

Wish I knew what they did check, would make the wait time more understandable for the variables.

We aren't technically in a huge rush to get approved since we're here until fall, but I just want to get it all over with. The background check shouldn't take long for my fiance because he's only lived in one country his whole life and has nothing bad in his history. Maybe my calling to fix the error caused the officer to take a closer look at everything.

I've looked over a few case numbers, does it seem to anyone else like they approve a lot on a friday? And not so many during the week? Like they have certain days for the i129f to be processed by more people?

Maybe I'm just looking at too small a sample to get an accurate picture. But think I wen't over all the i129f's from 13th-16th... (yes I'm bored)

We're aiming for a July move... hopefully

It's hard to tell. A few weeks ago, some people were saying they saw more approvals on Tuesdays. I don't know if the system sends out the approval notices at night when the servers update or if they do it as soon as they approve someone.

I think it's at the end, I've not seen anyone saying they received the email during the day (GMT is +8 from CSC) so from 4pm onwards. Most updates seem to come around 10pm-12am time.

Also, I just realised, they were closed on the 18th Jan.

So currently, they are processing up to the 15th, then jump to the 19th.

There seems to still be quite a few from early Jan from the case numbers I've looked at; so I'd not be too worried.

Would be nice to know how they do the split internally. If it literally is piles of paper on desks, and they get handed out in stacks; then it's down to individual processing time/ability.

So safe to say they've started on them.

All the RFE's I've seen so far are from early in Feb, none are from later than the 19th that I've seen.

Some people who replied to these RFE's have also been approved already (2nd)

Also, there's some strange entries, of people replying to RFE without anything noting that a RFE had been sent. A lot of updates to DOBS, Addresses, names, etc, which isn't having any impact on processing time it appears. (Some are approved already)

There doesn't seem to be any method to the processing order though, unless its by country? Which we obviously can't see.

So; in theory, those of us from the 19th should expect something soon I hope.

I'll chime in on your trail... what I do know is that most likely you'd see the NOA2 approval as an update on your case before you receive the email/text notification. Reason being those email/text notifications are likely programmed/scheduled to go out after the update.

So, download the case update app on your phones so you can see the update before it even hits on a notification

You're awesome for looking into this. The RFE stuff makes me feel a bit better; hopefully no one here gets an RFE!

Yeah, when I called in ad edited an error I got an app notification a few hours before the email. But there's a 9 hour time difference between CA and where I am now so I get most everything overnight.
