Slight panic here.

I am still waiting for the NOA2 and realized the embassy here does not handle K1 cases so I need to transfer it to my fiance's native country of Finland. I called the NVC and the woman on the phone said she won't be able to change the location and that I will have to wait until it gets sent to Naples, Italy (the closest consulate handling K1s) and then have Finland request it.

But everywhere I've looked I've seen people specifically changing the location BEFORE this point in order to avoid a long delay. Is there not actually a way to do this?

You contact the Embassy that will receive the file from NVC and ask that it be transferred to the Embassy that you want to process through. Expect up to a 30 day delay.

Hi everyone,

So I sent my K-1 Visa in to the Dallas Service Center. They sent me a notice saying they tranferred it to the California Service Center. I guess the Dallas Service Center is back logged. California Service Center states 5 months processing time. (So what does this mean??)

Thanks for any information.

Mine was sent there, too.

From what I've been hearing, all or most of the received K-1 applications are now being sent to the California Service Center because Texas is suuuuper behind. The 5 month processing time is an average, I think. A lot of people on here are getting their applications accepted within 2 months.

We are seeing normal process from CSC at around 30 to 45 days. That can change based on your personal file and your country. Some are faster and some are slower. Depends on how much vetting has to take place with your case before approval.

It's a bit frustrating for my fiance and me because there have only been a few other K1 applicants on here from Poland, so we don't have much data to go by. :/ I'm just assuming it'll be similar to other European countries with processing times.

Processing times vary from Embassy to Embassy. You should visit your Embassy's website and determine the steps and what information that is required to process. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/pl/pl-niv-visatypeinfo.asp

Also, to better serve you when answering your question(s) can you complete your VJ Profile. To do so go to the upper right hand corner, select your name and under your name chose "my profile". Next under your picture you choose "Edit my Profile". Under profile settings scroll to the bottom of the page and you see two areas (Profile Information and Immigration Information) that accommodates vital additional information to help others in their reply to your question(s). Without it, the replier may just move on and not give you the answer because they have to "work" to get that needed information. The answer is sometimes predicated on that additional information. Their time is valuable.

Thank you and good luck on your journey.

 YW. Try this site for processing times. I find it difficult to use but its the best I have found. Play with it a little and see if it gives you what your looking for. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Also, try and find others here who are processing through Poland for help. Under your profile on the left side of this page is a way to track your timeline. Select "timeline" and then next to your profile picture is "follow similar timelines" link. Select it and it will populate a page with others who are processing. If there others with similar timelines as yours they will appear. Now you can follow them if you like and also now you can check their timelines.

Good luck.

Yeah I checked a while ago for similar timelines but there are only two. One is very shott and the other is longer. That's why I'm having trouble finding good data on wait times. But I understand every case is different. Thanks again!

Our NOA1 by mail was received on February 04, 2016 and the notice date is January 28, 2016.

Now waiting for NOA2 and reading what else needs to be done for the interview.

Valentine's Day is coming, I found and mailed a very nice Hallmark greeting card saying everything I wish to say to my fiance.

Happy Valentine to all! (F)(L)

I can't wait for them to start to work on january filers, I think they will start by the end of the week/beginning of next week!

I read in other posts that sometimes the NOA2 notice doesn't arrive by text/email even though the NOA1 did. I'm thinking if we create an account at the myUSCIS online page if that will make it more of a "sure thing" that we receive the electronic notification?

Does anybody know if there is any benefit to creating the account through their website?
