Awhhh thanks for that, I did wonder if they might think I was taking the P asking for freebie vaccinations!! Let's see what happens. Good to know faithful old boots the chemist is an alternative option!

Yeah my doctors won't give out freebies, do try it, but be prepared that they may say no. I have had a lot of problems with my doctors getting anything done for immigration, it's taken me 6 months to get anywhere so I am glad I started when I did. The next think I'm working on is my medical report for health issues which will hopefully be done on Saturday, I'll need that for the medical. Some surgeries are better than others.

I'm sorry they're making it difficult for you this process is stressful enough! I think it all depends on the surgery and possible where you live! Hope you get what you need on Saturday! X

Hi Greenbaum, thanks for the advice. I have been told its best for me to get as many of the required shots done before I have the medical, here in the UK it is possible that we will get them done for free, so it will save me money. I'm lucky that I can get my vaccination record simply by attending my doctors office. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Visa journey forums are so reassuring and helpful.

I am a little confused. You will get vaccinations for free from your private Dr. there in the UK?

Because what I was saying was that the vaccinations are included in the medical fee. If you have one or 13 shots, doesn't matter FREE. All this is included in your medical fee and won't change whether the do them at the medical or with your private Dr.

i believe the medical process although it is similar varies depending on which country you are from. The medical in London charges extra for any shots required on the day. the UK has a public health system so it is widely recommended on the UK forum that we check with our Doctors office to see if we are able to get vaccinations done for free prior to the visa medical. Hope this makes sense! :-)

Thank you for the kind response. I now am more in tune with how things work there in the UK. Hope all goes well for the rest of your trip. Safe travels.

I hope they will do it for you :) Yes I have to pay £20 for my daughter and mine medical records and £20 for a medical report about my asthma etc for the medical. My doctors are very strict about everything and very understaffed but hopefully I'll get the rest of it done in time. It shouldn't be a huge issue. I spent £70 getting my vaccinations up to date. For those who have a helpful GP getting the vaccines for free is awesome but they aren't obliged to do it unless it's something required on the NHS. If it's a travel vaccination they can charge a fee.

It's is best that you call your Embassy and also check their website for the details for processing through their Embassy.

The police record questions can be answered here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

Select the countries that he has lived in and scroll down to the Police tab and select it. All the necessary instructions are listed on what to do. Some countries will not issue PC's if you are not living in the country at the time of the request. I recommend printing off that page and bring it with you to the interview so you can demonstrate to the CO that you cannot get a PC from that country if there are any unanswered questions as to why you do not have a PC from that country. Most CO's are knowledgeable but some are not.

Thanks for the advice. Do you happen to know what the process is for obtaining his police records from the US? He went to uni in North Carolina for 4 years. I don't know if those records are needed as well.

If he lived in the US then there is no need for a Police Certificate because USCIS, NVC and the Embassy all have access to the FBI database which will be checked during the vetting of the visa.

Which University did he attend?

Alright, thanks. So I will make sure he gets his police records from the other two countries and not the US.

He went to Brevard College on a soccer scholarship - loved every day of it.

And you know where to look for the other countries and what is required from them?

My daughter, who is 20 was a camp consular from a camp located in Brevard. She loved the camp and it's location. Didn't say much about the town but don't think they got to town much.

Good luck on your processing.

Yes, the link you sent earlier was very helpful. He's familiar with the process for Finland since a job here in Malta required those records as well. The Maltese records can be pulled from the police HQ here next to the capital city.

The area near Pisgah Naruonal Forest is supposed to be really beautiful.
