If you don't mind me asking, what consulate are you expecting to go through in Canada? Our case is in Vancouver, but no word on Packet 3 despite others saying they email it right away. Trying to see if anyone else is currently having the same experience with Vancouver, but the Canada board is a little dead at the moment.

I don't mind :)

We're going through Montreal. Already got our case number from NVC last week. When I tracked the status through CEAC I got a message stating that it's still in transit so we're still waiting for them to send us our Packet 3.

From what I've been reading so far, we can send our Packet 3 before Montreal sends it to us first. I don't know if it's the same for Vancouver? Fiance still needs to get his police certificate so once that's done, we'll be sending our P3 regardless if Montreal sends it to us first or not.

I hear ya about the Canada board! I tried doing research but there's a whole bunch of posts that were dated a while ago so I don't know if the information is still current...

Thanks! I've seen the same about Montreal, and that they'll also send via email, and was hoping it was the same for Vancouver.

Unfortunately they just confirmed today that they mail Packet 3. It's frustrating as we already have everything we need, but the Packet 3 forms floating around for Vancouver are all out of date so I'm hesitant to send back without having the "correct" version. Even on the consulate site, there's only the Montreal version posted.

As for the Canada board, the guides are definitely out of date, but they're at least a good starting point and I've been able to figure out most of the updated information with a little extra digging. The only thing I haven't tracked down is the updated Packet 3 for Vancouver...which is the one thing I need. Sigh...

Hopefully my fiancé gets it in the mail soon. Good luck!
