Just got the email 40 mins ago that they approved my visa petition yesterday. So now the wait for NVC starts. I'm really happy as I was worried it might take longer. But I'm hoping to get my medical booked for mid may once I get the number :)

Took me 15 days or so for it to get to nvc.... Approved March 4, they received the 28, case Id March 29. Consulate March 31.

Hope it gives you an idea!!!

Thanks, I figure between 2-3 weeks I know they can take up to 5. I am slightly less stressed as I know I can get a medical fast. At latest it depends on when they book my interview for I should be able to get there the first week of August. But I am hoping to get there a little sooner to settle my daughter in before school starts. At least I know at the longest it should still be fine for her to start school with the others now so I am feeling a little less stressed :)

Tricked... How soon could you enter your case number on the website and get result?

Nevermind mine just finally worked!! :D

Mine is logged now but just says its at NVC and to follow instructions. I clicked the link and is talking about fees. I have to pay another fee? I thought that was for the visa and my fiance pays that at interview time. I may be looking at it wrong but says needs to be paid by US bank

After you choose your agent, you need to pay your processing fees. There are two processing fees:

  • Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee
  • Affidavit of Support Fee

You should pay these fees online at the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center. You will need a bank routing number and a checking or savings account number from a U.S. bank. The image below shows the routing number, account number, and check number on a personal check. The order of these numbers may differ on your check and may include some special symbols different from those shown. You can contact your financial institution for specific details.

Still just waiting on the consulate to acknowledge they've received our case. Has shown as ready since the 14th. Hopefully we hear something soon. It's worse being this close. I have so much less patience now.

Im getting confused lol. Sounds like they are talking to the immigrant on the page but how do they pay with US bank account? As far as I know I send my stuff to him. He gets info from NVC gathers his documents and schedules interview and pays fee. Sounds like on this site that he gathers info, sends to nvc? Pays fees with US bank acct? then schedules his interview. So confused :/

Totally know that feeling

So when I checked status on the site this is what popped up. This is intended for the one coming to US?

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask.

You just send hin the stuff you need now.

He will either have to contact the embassy when it gets there or they will contact hin for package 3 (I don't know his embassy) here we get it via e-mail.

Since he has the case number he can probably book the medical now.

You should go to the country forum and look because each step from here is different from country to country.

Mine says that too but here we book our own interview so it depends on how your embassy does it :)
