Don't get ahead of yourself and shouldn't do the DS-160 visa application or medical until London has your file. This is the instructions for a London K1. https://uk.usembassy...g-for-the-visa/ Don't do any of that until the petition has been approved, the file goes through NVC, and was received by London. They will mail a letter to you in the UK to say "Go". You can go over the list of documents needed for the interview and get those ready now. Get the UK K1 Embassy Letter (EL) at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/ as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Police Certificate is only needed if you have lived in another country since age 16 for more than 6 months. More details on each country can be located here: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

We did the ds160 as soon as the nvc gave us a case number. And paid the visa fee as it is good for 1 year...at least for our consulate

I'll let you know when the results come back :P

But, seemed to go fine. I'm healthy, and had nothing prior for him to look over, so it was quick.

The trip itself was... long... eventful and stressful but, traveling to the far side of the country same day would be.

We recieved packet 4 today and our interview is May 24th.

Now she can get her medical done and we will find out if she needs the sputum test.

If she does it will add another 8 weeks waiting for the results, and another week or more waiting for the visa to be issued.

Good luck to all wherever you are in the process.
