Our case made it to the consulate last night and went directly from 'At NVC' to 'Ready'. I had called the NVC to ask if our case had been sent even though CEAC site wasn't updated and representative said it was mailed April 11th, so I tracked it on DHL all week of course :P

Packet 3 email received! Police check and medical scheduled, along with completion of necessary forms. Fingers crossed that the interview will soon follow!

Our case shows as Ready, but as of this morning the Vancouver consulate says they don't have it. It changed to ready late yesterday so I'm hoping it just hasn't made it on to the right person's desk to be noted as there. Fingers crossed we hear something sooner than later. I know I need to be patient, but we're so close!

Some of the comments here are out dated and people need to be careful reading everything here- For example:

1. NOA2 hard copy took only 2 days -4/6 to 4/11 to arrive in my mail box in MD. This may not be the case with people in other states but 30 days for hard copy to arrive- it could happen but some of the posts here are out right wrong.

2. NVC processing time is not the same- so no need to say 3-4 weeks before your case is processed- These whole visa process is case by case situation and your 2 or 5yrs experience is not the same case today.

3. The time a case gets to Consulate - is also over kill.

4. The most important thing here - is the document gathering process- that one I give the forum a 10 but all other predictions or estimates are way off the mark, wrong and misleading.

That's my 2 $ents !!

This is a relatively current thread so I don't necessarily agree. Most of the comments are consistent with what people are currently experiencing, and people regularly reiterate that it varies on a case by case basis.

If you're talking about the forum as a whole, yes, some of the guides and comments are out of date. But I wouldn't say that's the case for this particular thread. I think people are getting up to date and relatively reliable information, while also being told that it may vary.

Even with the outdated guides and timelines in some places, it's still a strong starting point. For most, if you do a little additional digging, you can find updated information based on what was previously shared. It at least points people in the right direction.

I have been following this thread for almost a month and people post on it regularly that are going through the process as of now. Some have gotten theirs a lot earlier than others but as its always said from members each case is different. I havent seen anyone posting on here in this thread that has an outdated experience just people that are going through this process currently or just finished. NVC told me that its typically 5 weeks

Yes. I haven't explored much other than heading up to the tulip festival last weekend, but I absolutely love this area so far. Looking forward to exploring more once my fiancé is here.

FYI for those waiting for an NVC case number: I called NVC a short while ago. Apparently, they received my file (NOA2: Mar 21) on the 11th, but they scanned it in only today. And according to the gentleman who answered the phone, it may be many days before they assign it a number and make a proper case out of it, etc. So there isn't just a delay in sending files from CSC to NVC. There's also a delay in actually scanning in the files at NVC.
