Varies by consulate. I got the NVC notice in the mail a week after the consulate already had it. The consulate emailed both of us three working days later. And it's up to us to do everything. Go to the NVC website and research on your particular consulate.

I called and says I need to have fiance's passport number which I dont have on hand. I have everything else

Yes, it's on the ceac.state.gov site.

Where do you see the status of your case change from "in transit" to "ready"? Is it on the ceac.state.gov website or another website?

NVC uses the receipt number. The consulate by passport I think. Ours dies anyway

Our case has reached London after being posted I think on the 8th. :-)

I've been told the NOA2 is not required for AOS and the other documents will suffice as proof. However, I'm still going to ask my fiancé to phone USCIS and get a copy.

Hmm well I will try tomorrow. I called the number I think you gave me cuz I was on the immigrant line first. That one asked for receipt number. But then realized I dialed the wrong number I believe so tried the first one given to me and said passport number

So yesterday we received the NVC letter stating they've received an approved petition.

However, NO NOA2 has been sent to us and the website hasn't been updated.

It takes two weeks for USCIS to send your file to NVC and it takes 3 weeks for NVC to produce your case number. Once you are approved from USCIS it takes about 30 days before the hard copy of the NOA2 for it to arrive in your hands. You need to understand that this is a process with no guarantees of when you will receive your approvals. Further, no here can tell you when you will receive them. All we can do is give you our best guess.

All things take time. Be patient.

Also, question for everyone:

Does the CEAC site change the status any more after it says "Ready"?

No the CEAC will not change till after your interview then it will go into AP, Ready and then Issued with a possibility of a few AP's in between.

I know I think when I googled NVC it came up with another number but not associated with K1. Either way it said passport number but I didnt want to hold for a long time if I didn't know for sure if they needed that. I will try again tomorrow and get both numbers I need

Hi do you get this kind of information after they contact you letting you know they received it?

I just emailed them. I have not contacted them yet. Where are you looking to see the status of the case? I haven't gotten anything but the NOA2 where it just says to contact them after 30 days. Am I missing something? Good luck on your journey!

I strongly suggest you contact them and request a copy as you need this for AOS.

It takes approximately 30 days from approval for your NOA2 to arrive. It will do you no good to call or text as they are going to give this same answer. Check the CEAC sight for updates on your case. Begin calling NVC for your case number (if you want it) 14 business days after your NOA2 text or message that it was approved.

Checking on your embassy case number:

It will take 7 - 10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2 - 5 business days for NVC to get your file in there system and get the MNL # from USEM. Call 7:00am eastern time for shorter wait times K1's are not tracked through the AVR, ever. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time)

Press 5 for non-immigrant visa K-1 visa.

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

Received the RFE notice, its because we missed out question 2a, 2b and 2c in Part 3 of the i129f form. Just have to complete the form attached together with the RFE notice and mail it out.

Luckily an easy fix. Hope you get approved soon :)
