The average for Pakistan ranges between 300 and 400 days from NOA1 to Interview at the embassy.

You will be lucky if you get a visa 2 months after the interview. From what I read, that's not common. AP (name check, etc. in Washington, DC) could last months to years.

I have read some where here in VJ what you just posted, specially for male applicants. DO you know of a particular reason?

I would assume it has to do with the link between a particular country and DHS' assertion of the threat from that region based upon their intelligence for whatever reason (corruption, terrorism, insurgency, fraud, etc.). If there's a correlation between gender and length of time, it's probably got something to do with statistical analysis. i.e. Males are more likely to be a threat, they are incarcerated more often, etc.

You will just have to wait that long, or actually longer. NVC is more then a month. It is what it is. There is nothing you can do to naur it go any quicker but you can stop it going any slower. Prepare for NVC now so that when the time comes your documents are ready to go immediately.

Hang in there, everyone, our dates are starting to get close, besides the Filipinos who have already been processed! I am trying not to be envious of the people sent to California who are about six weeks ahead of those of us in Nebraska. I catch myself thinking, "what if I'd only mailed it a day earlier or a day later? Maybe mine would have gone to California?" but in the end, six weeks will not make much difference.
