I will keep you updated. My visit was very good. We just cleaned house here on a lot of people in office so my congressmen is getting his feet wet and the immigration guy is relatively new. There were still remodeling both of his offices that I went to. Perhaps he does not know much but he did ask me every question under the sun and said he would work hard to get it moving. All I can do is hope but I will keep you informed. One of his other cases in A/R has been in it for 9 months. That did not sound good.

There was a link in another tread dealing with Islamabad that has a lot of good information about A/R's Just in case you missed it there here is the link.

http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/Secu...tiveReview.html

I did find that very helpful. It did give me one thought of why I could be in A/R. 3 or 4 years ago I had a lot of problems with a woman I had been involved with and had a restraining order placed on her. It was nothing I had done wrong, she had actually pulled a knife on me, broke into my house, etc. I assume it might be possible both names are on it and it generated a hit. This woman was so wild that when we had our court order me to get the restraining order on her they had to keep 8 cops around her to keep her under control. If you didn't see the other post check out the link. It is really good and does give some options.

I am now past 2 months and no word.

  • 1 month later...

AR was for ONE MONTH: 30 days

The CO alleged that I filed a fraudulent visa application as he did not think that I was divorced as wrong SSN on my divorce decree. REALLY: How crazy does this sound as it is illegal to be married to more than one wife, plus violation of several immigration statutes. If a person cannot function in society, I guess that he can always get a job at USCIS.

HELPFUL NUMBERS to save time and worry on status of your AR:

These are not the silly $20 phone call to get an appointment.

U.S. Embassy 011-63-2-528-6300 then 7 then prompted for extension 5185#

Department of State 202 663 1225 + 1 + 0

Thanks for everyone's prayers and support.

Congratulations. That is wonderful.

I came across some statistics on the USCIS website the other day. At the time they cited, there were 138,000 people in A/R. 68% had been in A/R for more than 3 months and 35% for more than one year. One of thier goals for this year is to try to speed it up and to try to make it more transparent. I think those changes would be long overdue.

For me it is getting near the 4 month mark with no end in sight.

Oh my gosh. That positvely, ahhh, I can't think of a word to say how bad that is. I am glad to hear it moved a little bit. I have been very patient so far but I don't think I could stay that way when it becomes years. Best of luck.

As you read, ours is in AR as well, and today is day 24 only, nothing compared to you folks.

The only sad thing is , every effort we have made up till now is that of being ignored.

Even our politicians said the same thing they said to you. You are in Ar, and nothing much we can do, but we will look into it. I would be thrilled just to know what the actual issue is. Why is it they cant just tell you that you are IN AR for____ reason and let you try to figure out what can be done to remedy the situation if it is an issue the petitioner can help with.

It's not fair to put peoples lives in limbo, and give a reason. They leave people worrying the worst, and assuming there is some sort of black cloud hanging over them , much like a mushroom cloud after the big blast, and thinking all has been destroyed, and all hope is gone. So as you guys sit, so do we, and so many others.

Let's hope the fall out dissipates soon, life is short, and and to be alone is a lonely waste of it.

God Bless ...and Best Wishes to all of us.

Just remember...update the info...others are watching with hopeful thoughts.

Sorry to hear about your A/R situation. It is the pits. Usually A/R at the embassy level seems to go a little faster than A/R at NVC level but that is not an absolute thing. I do wish you a speedy journey through it. There are 138,000 people in A/R according to the USCIS website and 68% go longer than 3 months with 35% going longer than one year. I could say it is frustrating but that is not strong enough. Good luck.

well today is day 25, and with elections in the philippines, i was told that there will be little done during this week by many over there. But I have a hard time believing that the Embassy will stop functioning due to that. So I want to believe, as little as I do , that they will continue to plug away at our case. All i know is that if they were to simply drop them, then they would have politiciand coming down all over them, and that would not be good. That would mean that the 68 % would be in the over 1 year spot. So I am hoping that we will be soon to be told that they are reviewing what ever it is missing, or needing to be verified. My understanding by reading all the posts, and believe me I thin k I have looked up evey AR Case in the last year, and it sounds like they find what it is needing research, review, or verification, and then send it back to the Officer who interviewed you, and leave it up to them to review it again, and make a decision, and then decide what is done, or if the Visa is then sent out without a return visit needed. I hope I have read that right, and if I am wrong, i hope some one reads this and corrects me. So now I play the waiting game for 10 more dyas before the State dept says they will help me. As I said ,they told me I need to follow the chain of command first, and then if that dont work to try other channels. But so far all I get from the embassy, and now the State dept call line is the Embassy has not updated our case, and there fore they have no update to give. Same thing happened at NVC. They approved our case and sent it to Manila, but they never posted it, updated it, or let us know until almost a month later, and we were told....."THEY FORGOT" !!!!!

I was told by the State Dept that I have a large file, and due to the fact that I filed a previous Visa on my last wife, and the fact that I have traveled all over the world, that I have a large file documented on my so called "PLACES OF INTEREST" I have visited. I have went to Cuba, Columbia, Thailand , Cambodia, Muslim Mindanao, and many more, and I guess being interested in foreign lands may be a crime,... I just love cultural diversity, especially Asian culture. I sould have born Asian.

Well anyway, for anyone who may read this, please wish us and all the other 100,000 plus a place in the heart of God, we just want to be with our loved ones.

God Bless All, and remember to update your posts...many are watching and hoping to learn from you.

Learning, and listening, and watching becomes our only way to cope...

So update your time lines, give dates, and times, and helpful info that will help others get thru this hell we call Immigration.

We all wish you good luck Randy. The good news is that it seems like some of the Manila A/R's have been processed quickly. I saw a couple that lasted only 30 days. Yours may be only days away.

I agree, everyone stay in touch. The more we know the better.

Hi. My name's Dave, and I'm in Administrative Review!

((Hi, Dave!))

#######... Just like other groups that use a similar introduction... I hate to admit, but I am here in A/R at NVC.

I think it may have something to do with my criminal history. I had a few things from MANY years ago. - All minor misdemeanors. I supplied dispositions for every single incident in my life save for one that was not available because it was in 1992 and the records don't exist. And I'm not even 100% sure this caused the flag for review because they did not tell me, and the USCIS approved my petition even with this information.

This is my first K-1 petition and approval. This is my fiancee's first K-1 application also. She is from Russia. She has a clean record. I am 39 years old and she will be 31 soon - so no major age gap.

I got my NOA2 approval on June 4, 2007. Four days later I call the NVC just for shits and giggles to see if I can get my NVC case number. I was pleasantly surprised that they already had my file. Then they give me my MOS case number and tell me my file has been sent to washington for "Administrative Review". I have been reading about T/G's troubles with this process so I am aware this is a VERY bad thing. They cannot tell me why other than it is a post 9/11 policy that some get sent to washington for review. Not sure if he mentioned the FBI or not but I think so. I should have recorded the conversation or taken notes.

Either way this totally sucks.

Are there any experiences of short time in A/R? A few weeks? Two months?

What are the shortest A/R times we know of?

What is the average time in A/R we know of?

Is there anything my lawyer can do?

In some ways I feel like my dream of bringing my soulmate to live with me is shattered. Is it only dented and not shattered?

OMG... I'm freaking out!

True to form when I told my Elena about this she calmed me down a bit. She tells me she will wait and she is not worried she knows she wants to wait - no matter how long it takes. She stated that she just wants to be with me and she is not interested in stopping the process. I am so lucky to have this woman in my life. All we want is to be together and share our life.

I sent you a PM, Dave.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Another question...

Are there any instances of NVC A/R that end up in a denial? Or do you simply go into some deep black hole if they don't let you past the A/R.

In other words... Anyone been sent to A/R and told their case is terminated due to ________???
