Hi there!

Of course I can share my experience :)

So my biometric appointment was at North Broadway, Chicago but I assume all offices have the same routine/process (i'm guessing).

My appointment was at 10AM. I got there at 9.50. When I walked in there was a security guard sitting at a table. He greeted me, asked was my phone turned off, and asked me for my biometric letter and a form of ID (I used my passport as my ID).

He gave me a form to fill out. It asked for very basic info, name, DOB, case number, phone number etc. It took under 5 minutes to complete. I gave it back to him. He stamped and signed my biometrics letter, and gave it back to me with my ID, and a card with a number on it.

My card was number 46, and as I sat down after receiving my documents number 41 was called. I waited 15mins, and I was called to the top of the room. They took one photo of me, and loads of finger prints.

They asked me to fill out a customer service survey which asked a total of 4 questions about the service provided.

Did that, took all of 30 seconds, and I was on my way!

I spent a total of 30 minutes there. It was a very easy process!

i think you are supposed to be doing biometrics only once?!

Isn't the work authorization and travel permission one single card? Hence why biometrics is only done one time: for the work authorization/travel and green card.

Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

So I went and got my biometrics taken this morning for my GC and Work Authorization.. I didn't realise that the Travel Doc required separate biometrics ?

Still no NOA-1 hard copy here. Been 6 days since the email. Might be the snow on the East Coast I guess. That's what I hope at least, don't wanna go chasing after letters.

Wow! That is fast! I wonder what the rhyme or reason is for the processing of these cases - is it the state? Haven't even gotten the NOA-1.

Anybody else noticed that you can still see when they "touch" your file. Not what they are doing, but I noticed that the "last update date" has changed on the egov site.

Yeah, that is true! All my cases show updated on Jan 25th. Got the texts on Jan 23rd, so maybe that is when they sent out the letter.
