For those of you who had received RFE for some reason or another, how long did it take after 'RFE received' to change to 'ready for interview'? It is now 30 days since my RFE response for I-485 was received, and there has been no movement since.

we received RFE on march 03,2016, replied to rfe on 03-23-2016 , rfe response received by 03-28-2016 then i485 approved without interview on 04/20/2016 . ? goodluck on your journey! ?

In my case. They received the RFE on March 17th and on April 11 they updated to Ready to schedule a interview. Since then I haven't had any updates.

The EAD was approved and the card arrived on April 6. The same day the EAD arrived, they approved AP and said an approval notice will be mailed. So, not only did we not get a combo card, but the notice for AP approval never arrived. Anyone else the same? Still no word on the green card either since biometrics.

Same here. EAD and AP were both approved on March 31st, but only received EAD, no combo card. I haven't received anything for AP at all. I called and they said to wait 30 days before calling about AP. Super annoyed as we have a trip planned May 16th.

Keep repeating the same thing.

Forget waiting the 30 days. Forget putting in a Service Request. Forget about all of that. Those don't really do much.

Make an Infopass appointment now to speak to an Officer in person about your case. These make a difference.

Infopass appointments are typically booked at least 2-3 weeks in advance. So make an appointment asap.

Everyday I come home and open the mailbox thinking it will be there, but nothing yet. I'm glad we don't have any imminent travel plans, otherwise I would have been calling every day. Tanya finishes her English classes at the university this week, so if we don't hear anything by the end of this week we may try infopass. It might also give me a chance to get some insight on the green card status.

so hubby got EAD/AP approved on 4/18, and still now no card in our mail.

We called USCIS to find out that they sent it out to our old address, which we updated 2 MONTHS ago!!!! we received confirmation for change of address and everything for it and now they came to tell us that we never gave a new address, that it was not updated!! :ranting:

Now what do we do??? How do we handle this?? the card is in limbo in my opinion and the post office never forwarded any of our mail for God knows why :ranting::ranting:

That sucks!. You contacted USCIS, they agreed they mismailed it and then suggested no further process?

When my cards were sent not tracker was provided just said wait 30 days then let us know if u didnt get it and got them in like 2-4 days. GC was actually hand delivered.

My email says this:

On blah, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number ######, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by blah please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
........ You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application. If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Wow that sucks!! It's clearly their mistake!

Did you happen to receive a letter from them at your new address that they have updated your address? Like a confirmation or sort? Cause i also changed my address about a month ago and this might happen to us too!

We called and the lady we spoke to just told us that we never did change it, I told her we have a confirmation and she just said she does not see that and that I need to get mail forwarding and she hanged up on us. Now we put in a service request and will call again in the morning to figure out what to do.

Like the whole wait at TSC wasn't enough, the whole "no address on file" thing, now this

So GC status changed to interview scheduled today for June. I am glad things are moving but I was really hoping for no interview :(

For those who got interviewed already, what documents did you have to bring? Any feedbacks?

From my post on April 15th:

Get ready for our in depth interview story people. I hope it helps some people prepare for their own interviews. TL;DR at bottom.

We prepared for our interview by taking all our copies of forms with us (that we previously submitted) and a ton of evidence of co-mingled finances, joint accounts, proof of living together, honeymoon pics, marriage pics, etc with us. We read all the questions of VJ and were a bit nervous when we woke up this morning.

Interview today at 12:15. We got there about 30 minutes early and had to wait for about 20-25 minutes before they called us back. When we got there it was pretty empty but when we went through the interview door the place was crammed. We were told there were oath ceremonies today for new citizens which was pretty cool. Lady was very kind and we walked to her office. An actual office, not a room with glass partitions like at her embassy interview. We sat and talked for five minutes before starting the interview, her explaining the process of what's happening and she will be asking questions and not to be offended by some of the questions.

She asked me the USC: Tell us how you met. I told her our entire story from meeting online to beginning dating to meeting twice to her moving here and our marriage.

She asked my wife: Why did you choose this man. My wife gave an extremely eloquent answer :)

She asked me: Why did you choose this woman. I said because I love her and everything about her.

She asked us both about our wedding: who was there, did my wife's family come, why didn't they come.

She asked me: Do you believe this is a marriage in good faith. YES!!!

She asked my wife: her mom and dads name,

what the organizations she belonged to were (law association organizations we put on the I-129F)

a bunch of the Yes/No questions about: are you a communist, are you a terrorist, etc that were in the I-129F.

Then she said: I'm approving your application.

The whole process of being questioned was about 15 minutes. She did not ask to see ANY evidence we brought with us, and we brought all the initial packets we sent in (I-129F, I-134, I-485, I-765, I-864, I-693, I-131) as well as a stuffed 13 separation folder filled with copies of co-mingled finances, joint accounts, proof of living together, etc.

Then we listened to her talk about what to expect next and we asked a few questions which took another 30 minutes.

Note: We did not need to get the I-551 stamp on the passport unless an emergency arises in the next few weeks. The I-551 will be a part of the 2-year card she will receive and we can use it to travel outside the country basically as soon as we get it. No AP needed. Just don't stay outside past six months. They will only stamp the I-551 on the passport in an emergency situation since they said the card should arrive in 2-3 weeks.

We have to fill out a joint I-751 in 21 months to apply for the 10 year card and submit our proof (all the proof we brought along but was never used, as well as new proof which we will accrue over the next two years). She gave us two pages with some information on them about our adjustment class - CF1 (since we were coming from a K1 visa) and what would be needed with the I-751. Also gave my wife a booklet welcoming new immigrants to the United States.

Note: She said that if you submit enough evidence with the I-751, you will 90% of the time not be interviewed at the field office and will be immediately approved. So as long as you have joint accounts together well in advance, proof of living together on bills, all the joint stuff that happens with marriage you likely won't need an interview.

We shook hands with the lady, went outside, hugged and kissed for a long time and came home to share the news with everybody here.

Overall the interview was really great, the lady was kind, polite and open and we were approved in 15 minutes.

TL;DR: Approved, interview went great.
