Hello all,

Wanted to share the great news that my wife received her EAD card this week Tuesday and then her Greencard today! We've filed for AOS January 6th and had been patiently waiting for updates. Then 2 weeks ago the website showed approve for both EAD and GC, which we were very surprise! We are very lucky that we didn't need to go through an interview and the GC was approved! Thank you so much for this community for the resources and everyone's support and kindly provide their experience on their journey. We definitely couldn't do it without this wonderful site!

Sorry just seeing your post now! Thanks so much - we are beyond relieved that my EAD/AP is finally approved.

So I contacted my local Congressman's office last Monday 21st March (76th day). I was really lucky that there is a lady that works in the office who specializes in immigration matters specifically. The following day (Tuesday 22nd) she put in the expedited processing request for me because I knew if I made it myself without evidence of my job offer USCIS would most likely decline it. And yesterday morning at around 8.20am, I received a notification that my EAD/AP case was approved! So it took only 6 days!

It was well worth asking for help. The lady at the local Congressman's office is so nice and so thorough she has decided to keep an eye-out on my GC status, and inquire every 2 weeks with USCIS on our behalf. :goofy:

I put an expedite request by calling USCIS and then requested my Congressman's office to also write on my behalf, which it did. The immigration expert at his office is a terrific lady! Then, USCIS emailed me for evidence of a job offer and asked me to fax it to them. I did that, and my Congressman's office also forwarded the job offer letter. This was two days back. Radio silence since then...

The EAD expedite request has been neither approved nor denied yet. I hate this limbo! :crying:

I can beat that. My local office is supposedly working on cases from Mar 29 2015 (as of Jan 31st 2016). No updates since then. BUT, we have no idea where our cases actually are. Your case may be at any office. Or still in Chicago...

Look at the timeline aos, refine search for K-1 and local office, than sort according to noa-1. You'll see that Newark is working in order.

That is including the "covering of rear-end" the official reports are nowhere near accurate.

  • 07/05/2016: Interview notice received for 08/09 in Boston USCIS (Day 166)
  • 08/09/2016: Interview. Approved on the spot (Day 201)
  • 08/11/2016: Online update that card was mailed (Day 203)
  • 08/15/2016: Approval notices of I-485 and I-130 received in the mail. Hours later, green card also received in the mail. (Day 207) 
  • 08/25/2016: Applied for new SSN card without DHS restrictions

Same story here. Biometrics on Feb 8 and still waiting.

And now we plan to go ahead in June, but I didn't file for AP back then. Sent in I-131 last Friday. Let's see how that goes. Hopefully it won't disrupt the AOS process.

Finally! EAD card at least!

But arghhhhh we didn't send AP application until a few weeks ago. Now let's see how long we have to wait for AP.

Okay guys! On March 7 I said "I suddenly decided to file AP"? Now, two days after my EAD approval, they approved my AP as well!!!

So I assume if you submit AP application anytime before they approved your EAD, then your AP will get approved.

Or maybe they just want to save money and not produce 2 separate cards for EAD and AP :dancing:

3/31/2016 - "Card Was Mailed To Me" according to USCIS Case Status Check

4/1/2016 - "Advance Parole Document Was Produced" according to USCIS Case Status Check... Err what?? I thought it's a EAD/AP combo card...

4/2/2016 - Received EAD Card in our mailbox... So it's NOT a EAD/AP combo card... I guess AP has an earlier expiration date? Oh no.

4/7/2016 - Received AP Authorization to Parole forms in our mailbox... 1 year expiration same as EAD...

5/18/2016 - Met with Congressman and inquired about I-485 status

5/23/2016 - Congressman replied that "cases are pending background check clearance." Oh no...

9/20/2016 - Applicant used AP at POE to enter United States

9/24/2016 - Received interview notice in our mailbox... Interview scheduled on 10/25/2016! Didn't receive any email notification... Hmm.

10/25/2016 - Interviewed at San Jose, CA Field Office. Case needed further review. Zzzzz...

10/26/2016 - AOS "Case was Approved" according to USCIS Case Status Check!!!!! Just one day...

10/31/2016 - "Card/Document Production... We mailed you the new card..." according to USCIS Case Status Check

11/3/2016 - Received USPS Priority Mail Envelope with GC in our mailbox! Green Card in hand finally!!!

10/1/2018 - Received USCIS reminder in mail to remove conditions

10/15/2018 - Sent Remove Conditions (751) application to Dallas Lockbox

10/19/2018 - Checks cashed according to our joint bank account

11/19/2018 - Nothing received in mail for 30 days

11/30/2018 - Received in the mailbox the 797c 18-month EXTENSION LETTER! Thank god!

12/1/2018 - Received in the mailbox Biometrics Appointment Notice

12/27/2018 - Fingerprinted at Louisville, KY field office

7/21/2021 - Interviewed at Atlanta, GA office. Passed! Oath Ceremony scheduled.

8/13/2021 - Oath Ceremony at Atlanta, GA office. Finally a US Citizen!

AOS was approved today!!! Just got the email 20 minutes ago!!!! So excited for my hubby!!

Packet sent January 13
