Just got the text for AP approval. It didnt say much. Site said approved though:"on march 20 3106, we approved your form 131 application for uscis travel document...etc...we will mail your approval notice" ....strangely loggin in now shows a site error :(

No email.

Yesterday got email first, text shortly after. Email said same as site. Text just says case has been updated goto site for the EAD approval.

update: email re AP approval just came today. and site error has gone away.

USCIS website & Level 1 Support cant be trusted :) You will get your AP & EAD combo card (If you applied both together). My wifes EAD came without any update -- one day it just showed up in our mailbox - they update the website manually, so it is upto the agent working on our case what level of details he is willing to enter. Sometimes they are kind enough to provide tracking details as well. All cards (EAD/AP/GC) are mailed via 2-day priority & 100 USD insurance.

No one can predict exact timelines. Marriage based AOS can take anywhere between 3 - 6 months. While employment based can take a little longer than that 6 - 8 months.

Marriage based AOS cases get GC faster as USCIS assigns 240,000 GC's for this category. For Employment based GC's the number is 140,000 - no country can get more than 7% GC in a given year.

Since you have your EAD/AP approved, you would either get an "interview wavier letter", would be called for interview or directly get a GC. EAD/AP to GC should take about 2-3 months max, but again this is not 100% accurate. USCIS is always short staffed and local office might have several interview cases ahead of you (if they decide to interview you).

Yes, no way to predict. On here, for K1 to AOS, I have seen timelines from 3 to 12+ months. I just hope to get it done before my medical expires, so I don't have to shell out for another one.

There is no limit for GCs for relatives of USCs, so the thing slowing us down is USCIS workload and shortfall of staffing.

From filing. EAD/AP has really no bearing on GC - unless the case gets a GC first, then EAD/AP are terminated. This obviously did not happen to either of us.

Yea I mean Ive enjoyed pretty on par timing based on VJ timelines/estimates and stuff so I am not complaining. The not knowing doesnt get a whole lot easier though. ...just can't wait for all this to be over.

Wish USCIS would just provide more updates on the site vs received and done msgs.

Oh well, keep marching forward.

Congratulations to those who got their ead/ap and aos approved.

Just went to my biometrics today. It was a long line, but it was pretty fast, got out after 30-40mins. Hoping that my approval will be speedy too.

I'm finally done! took oath at DEC 2019 😁

Mickey were you able to file?? I tried yesterday and it said I'm still in processing time. I'm on day 78 today

Check the date on your physical NOA-1 hardcopy. This is the date that counts for the 75 days, I believe.

:time: (correctly) people. Im sure the timelines/stats are missing a lot and hoping my location/facility is a lot faster than the timelines/stats suggest for my average! For the most part, my timing have matched the stats here in VJ so keep that accurate. The avg days is 161 for AoS from Biometrics and 201 days from my office so hopefully thats just not enough people updating their timelines. I KNOW theres more than 3 people at my office. Creeping me out that seems like they working on ppl from 9 mos ago.

I just called the office and actually they start counting days from the 'case received' on online status not on the NOA date which is different in my case.

So, I am at day 71 according to them and can call them in next 5 days to file the request. She also said that 90 days frametime is just the estimate and they can't guarantee that it will be processed within that time :protest:
