I'm getting a bit worried.

Sent the AOS package in on Jan 22nd and on checking the USCIS Case status page, see that USCIS accepted the fingerprint fee on Jan 28th. I-131 and I-765 were received on the 26th.

It's Feb 15th and I still haven't received the Biometrics letter yet.

Keep patiently waiting?

I receive my Biometrics Letter today (February 15th, 2016). The notice date is February 6th, 2016.

I have my appt at February 24th, 2016 at 1pm at it in the Brooklyn office. I may just walk in tomorrow as it opens.

I finally received my hardcopy for my AOS/AP on Friday February 5th, 2016. They had the notice date of January 27th, 2015. However, I didn't receive a hardcopy notice for my EAD but I did receive a text message with the receipt number.

Any suggestions on if I should contact them about receiving the hardcopy NOA1 for EAD?

Hoping that the biometrics letter comes this week.

Could someone please inform me if only the beneficiary needs to be at the biometrics, or both the beneficiary and the petitioner? My spouse needs to take the day off if the petitioner is required to be there as well. The letter only has my name on it. It would be great if someone here on VJ could confirm.

Some offices allow early walk-in. Though it's not all and no one knows if it is actually beneficial.

I'm confused.

I keep thinking that if they send the biometrics letter and some people receive RFEs before and after it - meaning they are not necessarily connected - I feel like it doesn't change anything, you know? Does anyone else have other theories? I have always wondered.

I doubt it will have a significant impact to go early (mine is only a weeks wait, so I'm not even going to bother). The only reasoning could be that petitions are on hold till the biometric data is in the system. Only people that could tell you for sure are the USCIS employee's.

If you do not do biometrics within a month or two, it likely will delay processing. If you do it a few days early - you are rarely notified more than 2-3 weeks out, it likely has little impact. A couple days, at most. RFEs have nothing to do with the biometrics. People can get them early or late, at interview, after interview even...

Mine is tomorrow. Didn't attempt early walk-in as my local office is notorious for sending people away who attempt to walk in.
