I got an update yesterday. " Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed"

I don't think there's a "typical" case at this point. Some locations have same day oath, some don't, in which case you would receive your letter in the mail with your ceremony location and date weeks after your interview. For mass ceremonies, like in Albuquerque, the US district court is in charge and has established fixed dates for naturalization ceremonies. You can google their website and see if your city has one of those.

Don't worry. I took the oath month ago but my status online has not been changed - it says that I'm scheduled for the interview.

Hello Fellow January Filers,

I had my interview on May 3rd and it went very well. My appointment was at 11:45 and at 12:35 my number was called.

It was touching to see my file with all the documents from 6 years ago when I had my GC interview at the U.S. Embassy in Paris.

They make you swear that everything you will say will be the truth, then the IO goes through your application and ask to confirm all the answers you wrote down.

My questions for the Civics test:

- "what group of people was taken to America and sold as slaves?"

- " Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?"

- " There were 13 original states. Name three."

- " What is the political party of the President now?"

- " What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?"

- " Name one state that borders Mexico."

The IO then gave me the Form N-652 (Naturalization Interview Results) with the following lines checked:

- " You passed the tests of English and U.S. history and government."

- " Congratulations! Your application is recommended for approval. At this time, it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified when and where to report for the Oath Ceremony."

I asked her if it will be somewhere around June as I have a business trip overseas in mid-June but she told me the ceremony should be scheduled earlier than that.

On May 5th, I received an update from USCIS stating that a notice was sent to me with the date, time and location of my oath ceremony.

Waiting impatiently for the final step.
