That is my plan, the ITN is real pain here in the states, you have to mail the beneficiary's passport to Texas with the W-7 and the W-7 has to be signed in front of an IRS agent. Its easier to do it overseas at some locations. Its not viable for us.

I'm sure you all realize this but if the spouse doesn't have a SSN and is a NRA you must submit paper this year. I have read somewhere that you can still use TurboTax but inputting an fictious number for the SSN to get around that, print out the forms, and white out to make the necessary changes. It will always be in your best interest to consult a CPA (I do question the "white out" method in dealing with anything government related.)

I just been researching this very question the last few days. I've had a few people validate the same information for me, a couple of whom works in a tax office.

you can do your taxes using TurboTax; however, you cannot e-file. you must chose the "File by mail" option at the end...meaning you'll paper file. TurboTax will give you an error message about missing an SSN for your spouse; however, this is why you print for filing. once you print it, you will write in NRA in the SSN field.

I will be doing this same thing.

I also spoke with an immigration attorney yesterday and he said if you are ready to submit your AOS and IV packages, you can still submit your 2014 Tax returns and W2. If your case is adjudicated as Complete before April 15th then you don't have to worry about submitting your 2015. HOWEVER, he still recommends that you get your 2015, 2014 & 2013 tax transcripts and have it ready just incase your case is not complete prior to April 15th. if it's not and they ask for it, you will have it ready to go. he also said there are some countries that will still ask for 2015 during the INTERVIEW. He said once you file 2015, wait a couple of weeks then request a copy of the 2015 Tax Transcript from the IRS. Then send those transcripts (original copies) fedex/DHL/UPS whatever you prefer to your spouse so they have it handy for the interview if it's requested. He said when your spouse gets the Packet 4 that contains what all he/she must bring to the interview, it may or may not be listed on there. I found it very helpful information. I hope you do too. I've already put in the request for my 2014 and 2013 transcripts.

I am going to use this, if Turbo Tax does not solve my issue. I still use it to prepare the tax return and transfer it to this:

So i´m not sure about all this tax stuff.

I talked to my joined sponsor and he said that he don´t do the tax before a week before it needs to be done, he done this for 20+ years.

So what do i do and what do i need to do ?

My wife has no income, i´m the only one with one and i´m in Denmark.

Best thing to happen is to have an interview at least 1 month before April 15th.

According to NVC, post can start asking for 2015 by April 1st.

Some post earlier if they "see" a border line AOS.

I do not have an exact answer for your case, your sponsor may have to abide to aforementioned rules and I do not know about your portion of 2015 income.

You cannot e-file, you must submit returns by mail. I believe that LinJoe (think that username is correct), explained it way better than I could. The one thing that I will add is that, tax transcripts are preferred but you can use copies of the tax return. I am working on gathering everything now to do my taxes because I just have a funny feeling that if I should happen to get an interview prior to the tax deadline of April 15th, that it may still be asked for.
