Just got off the phone with NVC's Nora regarding my kids' petition packets. She stated NVC rec'd it but the email should be sent by Fri....I got my email regarding my packet early this morning.....so I'm presently awaiting emails on my kids' own :clock::clock::clock:

Has this ever happened to any1 else where the spouse petitions were separate from the kids?

Question...how would one go about finding out where to look to see when Embassay'd are scheduling? Is that based on information VJ users provide? Just curious.

These are statistics used based on info from VJers who have completed the process. Not all embassies will be updated for members to know the exact. I can say the PoS consulate schedules non-immigrant visas based on an appointment system since I was able to go onto the CEAC website for TT Embassy and select the date and time slot which was available and to my convenience.....I cannot say the process for the IR-1/CR-1 visa and I believe that NVC receives a schedule from the consulate with available dates for interviews and this i how NVC is able to send a letter. Based on the review by the consulate after the packet is sent from NVC to the consulate where the interview must take place, then the consulate determines a suitable date and time and sends out the packet 3 for you to gather docs and do the medical etc prior to attending the interview.

Question...how would one go about finding out where to look to see when Embassay'd are scheduling? Is that based on information VJ users provide? Just curious.

That is the 64 bucks question every one would like to have an answer.

Varies from embassy to embassy obviously based on demand.

Each embassy has an scheduling internet portal but is for K-1, tourists and other categories.

In this portal they can register and look for slots available for those categories only.

Bogota's portal is https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/iv (for other countries is similar, just change the CO for whatever letters is necessary).

As far as immigrant visa interview slots go, there is no public information unless you have a close friend inside willing to risk his/her job for talking about what goes inside.http://www.immigration-information.com/forums/threads/how-long-does-nvc-take-to-schedule-interview.14120/

Also...a helpful tip! Look on the extreme right of the VJ page and you'll see a column going straight down that says "Latest VISA Approvals" and underneath that is another that states "VISA Interviews for today". There is one from Jamaica for each of these...you can PM them and ask abt their experience or just scroll through their timelines to establish what you were asking ;) You're welcome lol

Keep in mind that an IR-2 needs to be current before goes to interview. In our cases, IR1/CR1 we do not have to wait for a priority date to be current.

LOL...guess I married the wrong country (just kidding). That would be great if they all did that but that's too much like right...maybe at some point all the entities will function in the same format but I'm sure we will be way beyond this process before it happens. Too bad there isn't a suggestion box where we could help them out on how better to streamline this process. Funny thing is if we can build drones that deliver packages to your door or cars that drive themselves...seems like streamlining this process would be a cake walk. A great idea would be 1 giant mainframe system that all embassay's tap into (for petition processing, data/form collection, appointment scheduling and provides a portal for petitioners and beneficiaries). Imagine the number of trees that would be saved and the contribution made to the environment and global warming??? Edited by shsl73

Can't you take time off to visit him for your anniversary? I'll be doing so when mine comes around using my tourist visa.
