Scan Date December 6th. Today is the day we hit 45 days. we called NVC yesterday and they asked us to wait one more day. Not surprised how things are going for us. We have been getting the short end of the stick since the start of the process, Waiting 7 months in USCIS instead of the average 5 months. It took about 27 days for our application to reach NVC instead of the maximum i seen on this forum which is 21. There are so many delays i'm starting to forget them all. Anyway will wait out today and call tomorrow so that it can be put under supervisor review so that we can wait another 40 days or so.

WOW!! I'm sorry it's been going like this for you. We've had it pretty easy so far: 5 months at USCIS, 3 days to NVC, 21 days to get case number and IIN and everything else went pretty fast in terms of forms and fees and yet, we are still frustrated. I really hope you get your CC soon.

When we first sent out the I-130 we did really good research on average timing and things would have been really good only if it were a couple of days or even a week late. But to always be the last ones in ever section of the process has been very frustrating. What makes it even more frustrating is the fact that we had all the documents ready months prior to actually needing them. We were very prepared for this process in every way. We wouldn't feel this frustrated if we had made a mistake that puts the blame back on us. We did not get an RFE, we did not get a check list, We sent the required documents On time and we made it very Neat. We made immediate payments just hours after it was accepted. We are really getting the short end of the stick in this process no matter what we do. But having said that we are both trying to push ourselves to be more patient.

3rd NA day: 1/11/

NVC CC email notifiCATİON: 1/20

STATES THAT

20-JAN-16

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.

NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first-out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.

When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interview requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

  • He or she is more than 16 years old;
  • The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and
  • He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.

The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the embassy has issued a visa.

Sincerely,

Director

National Visa Center

I hope this document will be helpful

What is you embassy or consulate you are going to interview. I know some consulate are faster than others.

Mine is busy for sure (Ankara, Turkey)but any information about that would be very helpful. My estimation is 3-4 months

Also I wonder is there any difference that since my spouse is residing with me in my home country. Can I expect faster interview or there is no relation between that

Sooooooo, my husband called the NVC a few hours ago and was told they have officially extended the review process to 40 days and 30 days are no longer in effect. Soo, more waiting :(. Apparently they only did this about a month to three weeks ago.

@Frankjavir...thanks again for the information on yesterday. I did reluctantly call just now and was told my scan date was 12/31. So, I will try to "patiently" wait...the 40 to 45 days that is being reported here.

I had a checklist on day 40. Sent it in on January 8th. I wonder how long we have to wait for our documents to be reviewed again. Is anyone else with a checklist waiting or has been approved? I would love to know if someone else has a similar timeline. Waiting impatiently

We have a similar timeline then Miraj92. I received a checklist on day 41, my 'new scan date' is January 8th. Best of luck to you and yours. Getting a checklist is heartbreaking to say the least, especially 40 days after original scan date! ):

That's right! It's worse when everyone who had a original scan date after you are getting approved and you are stuck on the same page. I hope we get through this soon. Let's keep each other updated.

Yes I will keep you updated with any information I receive! I presume your scan date is the 10th- or around that anyway? So the moment I get mine, you need to be on the look out for yours! If we are put back in the circulation like everyone else, we have at least another 20 days though.

According to your timeline you send AOS on 12/28 and your IV yesterday, in that case that scan date of 12/31 is meaningless because your documentation is not complete until NVC receives your IV. You will get a second scan for IV, then the clock starts
