I spoke too soon! I got my NOA2 in the mail today....3 days after I was approved!!! the letter states they have sent my petition to the Department of state.

LoveInGhana.....did you still receive a text saying your petition has been sent to NVC after you got your NOA2 in the mail or just the NOA2 hard copy? if they really have sent my petition to NVC already, then i'm planning to start calling them on the 27th to see if they received it.

i'm more optimistic about this part going quicker than the first part with USCIS. a new hope has sprung in me.

I am waiting on my husband to send me his police report. I want to send our packets out at the end of the week!! Fingers Crossed that happens this week. It's killing me the wait...I just want to get our packets sent in.

It's not a waste of time. my husband is from liberia n I sent NVC his police clearance.. If not u might get a checklist. Hope that help.

Is he still in Liberia as a resident? My husband has not lived in Liberia in at least 2 years. He's back in India now. What process did you go through to get it?

Good luck to you as well in this process. since there isn't any major holidays coming up, i'm sure they are going to try and get caught up as much as possible. Finger's crossed. This process makes me feel like i know some of you personally.

Had to get two vaccinations, but that's okay.

Got the e-mail this morning stating that :

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on 06­JAN­16. We are experiencing a

high volume of incoming mail at this time. Please allow 30 days from the date we received your

mail for the NVC to review your documents.

that wait for whole month is seems like a year wait

Don't get your hopes up, Our scan date is Dec 6th currently were on our 43rd day and not a word from NVC and still no 3 N/A's. Kinda expected though, with the way everything was going for us, we always seem to get a section complete when date has been overdue and we totally lost our patience. We have just returned from a 14 day vacation this morning thinking were going to be back with good news, but no thanks to NVC and the whole broken immigration process !

Kinda expected though, with the way everything was going for us, we always seem to get a section complete when date has been overdue and we totally lost our patience. We are on this forum for so long that we do get to know some personally. I have actually become very good friends with a few people from this site. It is nice to have people you can talk to about the process and life in general.

Your scan date is Dec 6th and no case complete if i would be you i would tomorrow first thing in morning... because people with scan date of Dec 8th have gotten there case complete.... You may want to call and see if they are missing any document or they have a checklist for you....just saying i have seen people from my experience that if it is delayed so much usually it's not good sometime even i have seen people cases just put in a bin and delayed till they put it out for supervisor review...... My hope is your case is just waiting for a supervisor approval for something.... but you will be better off by calling and speaking to a supervisor who can look into your case more than those first line of operator who read like reading from a book.....

Well, I was bored and did some research on how busy NVC is:

On Fiscal Year 2015, NVC processed over 1/2 million immigrant visas, exactly 531.463. I am not including the 9,932,480 non-immigrant categories because my understanding is they are processed by the local embassies and consulates.

So, a fiscal year has 253 working days, therefore NVC processed an average of 2100 visas every day, that is a lot of visas.

I could not find out how many employees actually work on these cases, I estimate they need at least 1 hour per case and that is probably not enough, so each employee may be works on 8 cases per day.

DOES NVC HAVE OVER 262 EMPLOYEES JUST WORKING ON CASES? I DO NOT KNOW.

I let you be the judges about how efficient or inefficiency NVC is.

I believe we should cut them some slack, their working conditions are not the best and they are under a lot of pressure to meet quotas or goals. They are under lots of scrutiny and layoffs are pretty common.

I reconsider my opinion and have respect for these employees, apparently management is the problem.

Hello all, I have a few questions. My husband was down visiting for our anniversary and such, and I figured while he was here I would try to send him back to Canada with most (if not all) of the documents necessary for the interview- just to cut back on shipping fees.

From my understanding he needs evidence of my residence, so I was going to send up things such as bank statements. How recent do they need to be? And should the envelopes be opened or closed?

Also, when using a joint sponsor who's i-864 do i need to bring? Mine? Sponsors? Sponsors as well as household member? All of em?
