On the safe side send both.... Because in form 864EZ... it ask are you sending the tax transcripts and W2 is only required if you do not have employer letter to prove the money you make and support your case.... Otherwise Tax transcripts at least for last year when you filed or most current year is a must....

I think we both are right.... As i said if i put my current annual income is 100K but my last year tax transcripts only show 85K then i would include my last 6 month pay stub and as well as last year W2 if i cannot get my Employment verification letter.... This is called as front loading application with proofs that are not required but you put them just in case. Yes it is perfectly fine to go by what NVC site list but one thing i have learned i did not left anything to chance i provided following with my AOS since i do not trust NVC as they say something and do something else.... so it's my motto be safe than sorry you never know what these idiots might ask for.... because after this nothing is left for chances.... at least from AOS point of view.

As i said if i put my current annual income is 100K but my last year tax transcripts only show 85K then i would include my last 6 month pay stub and as well as last year W2 if i cannot get my Employment verification letter.... This is called as front loading application with proofs that are not required but you put them just in case. Yes it is perfectly fine to go by what NVC site list but one thing i have learned i did not left anything to chance i provided following with my AOS since i do not trust NVC as they say something and do something else.... so it's my motto be safe than sorry you never know what these idiots might ask for.... because after this nothing is left for chances.... at least from AOS point of view.

W2s are always required when you send a copy of your income tax return.

W2 s are not required if you send a transcript.

The options to frontload are two:

1. Support current year's income with 6 months worth of pay stubs and/or an employer's letter.

2. Transcripts or copies of income tax returns for previous 2 years.

My points are:

A. Instructions do not say anywhere: W2 is only required if you do not have employer letter.

Yes you are right but you know what i am somewhat paranoid and the horror story about NVC giving checklist for stupid things made me do that.... I too did not wanted to send so much stuff but hey more is better in USA always.... so i did that

I have the AOS coversheet printed out.. But how do I get the IV coversheet? IV bill is not enabled yet , i cant pay it yet.. I wanted to send both the packages.

I dont see any scanbar codes on the "I864-EZ" form. i864 form has scannable barcodes in the bottom of the page. Does that mean they manually enter i864ez ? Did you guys use a paperclip to put all the 7 pages of the I864-EZ form together?

I do not believe they scan AOS original signed form. This form with your signature i believe they just scan through regular scanner i am not sure, not the bar code which is used for data entry. As for documents, use the document cover sheet which you must have got from email(welcome email)

On top you use the AOS document cover sheet only for both AOS and IV packet...just mark them clearly.... that is how i did.... if anybody else has any other idea please jump in.

The problem is that when you volunteer too much or send stuff they specifically said no to send it may back fire. It may annoy a bureaucrat and just check list you for the hell of it.

I have not seen that happening yet, plus all the documents which i send just backs up my case....there is no document which contradicts each other since my case is very simple:

1. I am a salaried full time employee.

2. My only income is from my employer paycheck.

3. The money i make clearly matches my W2 and IRS Tax transcripts.

4. Paystub -> Proves my current income and employment history

So if you look that way i am least to get a checklist at least for supporting documents. Because all my documents back my numbers on I-864 EZ. On the other hand if you enter your current salary as 100K but your tax transcripts only show 85K because it is a year old... that does not support your number any more...

Thats a very good question:

This is the solution, use the AOS cover sheet for the AOS package.

Now: Pay attention!!! Edit the AOS cover sheet and where it says CMR AOS, delete AOS,

Save it, print it and you now have a cover sheet for your IV package. The address is the same for both.

This answer is worth money.... Show me the money!!!! LOL LOL

Label the packages with AOS and IV and put them together in a larger envelope and mail it.

Do not be concerned with barcodes on the I-864, there is no such thing.

From what I have read in the Wiki guide and heard from other sources, the packages take separate paths inside NVC and merge later down the road. Just logic. why will they go with the trouble in emphasizing two packages and issuing two slightly different cover sheets?

There are cases of false checklists for a whole package missing because the fool working on one does not see the other.

So having the proper cover sheet minimizes any mishap
