If it was/is insignificant, why can´t just bring it to the interview.

If you don´t mind me asking, what was the missing paper ?

It was significant in the sense that the AOS document I-864 was somewhat wrongly filled. If it was a supporting document for I-864 i believe then they would have allowed it.

But for Something like:

1. Form is wrongly filled or a critical piece of info is missing on form that is required. Not like you have heard people saying that they left blank they got checklist. Like you missed petitioner SSN like stuff.

2. Form is not signed.

3. Wrong dates.

These are some examples where they will issue checklist.

Also I believe in their case if i remember they had joint sponsor and the I-864 was wrongly filled. Can you confirm tayjus

I did have a joint sponsor, my aunt. She filled out the I-864 and because she and her husband file their Taxes together she thought she needed him on the I-864 as a household member. And because alone she makes enough to sponsor my husband, she did not have an i-864a from her husband. So that was all that was missing was his i-864a. The lady I talked to told me that my case was BASICALLY complete, I could either send in the i-864a or send in another i-864 without my uncle on it. She recommended I send in the i-864a so I did just that. I didn't think about asking if I could bring it to interview until after I sent it.

So when you list somebody as a household member and since you are using combined income irrespective your aunt was making more then you need to fill a I-864a.... I am not sure why that lady give you advice of sending the new I-864...because if you do that then you need to figure out aunt income and have to provide W-2's and paystubs etc because the tax transcripts will list your uncle as i assume they file as joint taxes. Yeah i know it's somewhat minor but in your case since she already mentioned him and your documents were not reflecting or supporting the I-864 because in this case for I-864 to be considered complete you need a I-864a.... that is the reason it is recommended to use I-864 EZ as there is almost very little chance to get a checklist but i know in your case it was not an option.... Anyways i hope you get a case complete very soon.

When I sent my Aunts I-864, I sent W-2's and tax transcript with both of her and my Uncles information (because they file jointly, yes.) along with paystubs etc. The lady said NOT to send a NEW I-864 for my Aunt since her information was already processed, and just send the I-864a for my Uncle since he was listed as "household income." I could not use the I-864ez because I am a student currently, therefore no income of my own. ):

Yeah i know that.... because you told me that you cannot use I-864EZ. I was just pointing out that if you include somebody from joint in I-864 a and have mentioned him/her then you need the I-864 a otherwise if you aunt just have omitted him from the original I-864 a and just used her own income then she would have been fine. But as i said i am praying too god that you get a case complete very very soon... Good luck to you

Okay I must have misunderstood. But like I said, I asked if it would be easier to resend the I-864 and omit my uncle, but the person said no it wouldn't be, and that this was my best choice of path. But oh well. Thank you I appreciate the prayers!

This is crazy, I just called NVC to inquire about my scan date and after I have been told twice in the past that it is Dec 19, tonight I was told it is December 15th. I do not what to believe anymore from NVC customer service reps. Sounds like good news, but this change makes me wonder.

Hi there y'all! Things seem to be moving right along for us eh?! We are a bit confused about submitting our packet electronically and when. There are conflicting things said on the forum and walk-thru's in the wiki. We have paid the AOS fee and submitted and reviewed the DS-261. We recieved the welcome letter with the checklist as well already. The AOS fee has been paid a week but still showing pending. My main questions .... when do we submit our packets online and what cover letter do we use for each packet? Do we wait til everything is done, IV fee paid and DS-260 unlocked to submit all the supporting documents? And as we will email in the copies of the documents as adobe pdf files, how do we separate the docs so they arent more than 5mb as the wiki states? If anyone has filed electronically for Montreal, man we would so appreciate your help getting through this. We had a hideous time at the border last time my husband visited and it has me shaking in fear pretty much every step of the way with the visa now. Thanks guys and godspeed on your cases too!

Our AOS and IV were received today at the NVC. Now the CEAC says "in transit". Where do I go from here, thread-wise?

What should I expect next? A pkt3 mailed to my husband (the Beneficiary)? Of it is expedited, do they schedule an earlier interview, or just as if it had been cc from NVC? Any experience or input is appreciated. Thanks!

I notice u did an expedite, do u send this after u send packets or before? I see some do before and some after so I'm confused. Thank u Edited by FarrahIdir

just for giving you an idea

Nvc checklist recieved notification (12/9): They stated they have recieved at 12/4

3 rd NA: 1/11

Still no notification email about CC

I talked to my lawyer and she has just said ''The fee payments and documents are processed. We are waiting for the interview date''

So either she talked to NVC and got the confirmation about CC or she is estimating like that.

Anyways eventhough my case seems to be completed (with 3rd NA) , I have not recieved any notification from them.

Good luck

FYI the Case Complete email comes 7 days after case complete you said 1/11 you saw the 3 NA's than you should get email 1/18 or 1/19.
