i have one question that we had submitted our AOS and IV package on 3rd JAN 2016 and it was received by NVC on 6th JAN 2016.

My hubby is the principal applicant and he have worked in QATAR for 1 and half years. But we did not submit the Police clearance for Qatar. But we did for Saudi. My question is that it is required or can be processed with out it by NVC or i will receive the Checklist.

you will receive a checklist and your application will be put on hold until you get them the clearance. i suggest you get started on it right away

Here is the info about Police Certificate for Qatar. It's from the NVC reciprocity list.

You may get checklist or you may be able to get Case Complete and told to bring to interview. You might as well get now because you will definitely need for interview.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/QA.html

Just get it and wait for NVC.

Tell him to get it.Not sure if you will get a check list but i got my PCC from Qatar last month and it takes only two days to get it. Once he gets it, tell him to get it attested at ministry of foreign affairs.

I agree, no one can be 100% sure (almost any guess is as good as another) But with any luck NVC will follow this pattern-- or maybe even quicker! And we will all get our CC's in due time (:

Wouldn't it be great if NVC had a system where as soon as your USCIS petition is received and scanned into their system, it AUTOMATICALLY assigns a case number and IIN AND it automatically starts to sparse in some of the basic information about the petitioner and beneficiary? i.e....names, DOB, address, and USCIS Receipt number. I would think that would speed things up a bit instead of waiting another 2-4 weeks for a case and IIN's.

I'm in HR and if our Applicant Tracking System can do that, I wish there was something in a larger scale that would do that for NVC.

I'm just saying at the beginning when we are waiting for 2-4 weeks just for a case number......this would eliminate that wait and shorten the time at NVC. i know not everyone can do electronic filing, but at least we wouldn't lose 2-4 waiting on a case number and IIN.

Although, i did notice on the NVC site that they are allowing more to go through electronic filing now. The table on the "Submit Documents to NVC" page didn't used to have Emailing processing listed on all categories like they do now. however, since i'm not that far into the process yet, maybe not everyone can till.

But yes all that can save time is good.

But with less time there they may extend the time for CC by 1-2 weeks.

They are still the same amount of ppl working there :)

there's a good and bad side to everything i suppose. i'm just talking cause i'm anxious to get to where you all are. i get excited when i see the quick progress you guys are making. i want my husband with me already!

They should set a maximum period of 60 days for NVC to finish documents and 90 days for those with checklists. If they surpass this time NVC should refund the $445 fee charged for AOS and IV. That should get them moving

I know how you feel I want my husband home as well. I hope you get your case# very soon. Before you know it your case will be moving along fast. The waiting is always the hardest part for everyone.
