just to try to answer your question, I am no an expert, it is not my situation.

This is my understanding:

1, your husband files the I-864 no matter what . YES

2. father is household member she he files I-864A YES

3. mother files I-864A (YES Only if your father-in law's income is combined with hers to meet 125% of poverty level for 4 dependents). Otherwise NO.

4. household size would be 4, (you, your husband , mother, father.) YES

Congrats to everyone on case completes.. I have my interview date as of today, my interview is set for March 22nd 2016 in the morning.. Its so far away, but I'm so happy to be a little bit closer to my husband..<3

I do not like to carry bad news, seems you will encounter that tiny bump but be positive, you may get lucky and be "completed" by NVC and let you bring the updated AOS to the Interview.

i have one question that we had submitted our AOS and IV package on 3rd JAN 2016 and it was received by NVC on 6th JAN 2016.

My hubby is the principal applicant and he have worked in QATAR for 1 and half years. But we did not submit the Police clearance for Qatar. But we did for Saudi. My question is that it is required or can be processed with out it by NVC or i will receive the Checklist.

I have a concern that has most likely been answered before but I'd HATE to get checklisted for it...so here goes.

A fellow member on a Facebook page that I'm on posted this a few days ago to help clarify an issue that some1 had:

How to determine household size?

Your household size must include the following persons:

◾Yourself;

◾Your spouse; ( or fiancée)

◾Any dependent children under the age of 21;

◾Any other dependent listed on your most recent Federal tax return;

◾Any persons being sponsored by this petition;

◾Any persons you previously sponsored and must still support;

For example, if you and your spouse have two children, and you are filing immigrant petitions for your parents, your household size would be six (6).

So I replied :

I believe my husband put household size as 3 as it's his parents and him living in the house...he doesn't work so my father inlaw filled an i864 as well putting the same info...do you think we'll get checklisted for it? If so...I hope they allow us to rectify it at the interview.

He replied: i think you will get a check list.

Here's my question....Why would my mother-inlaw have to fill a form? She is not employed so the household size indicated would be 3 (my husband, my father-inlaw, myself). Am I wrong and will we be checklisted for this by NVC?

Seems as though, every step you learn something new, it's cuz there's something that was done wrong when you filed initially....

Do you have children or other dependents? Why is your husbands household size 3.

The petitioner counts themselves and spouse and dependents (those they claim on income taxes not people you live with).

Mother only has to file I-864A if her income is being considered otherwise no need. Joint sponsors household size is dad, mom and immigrant 3. Unless the parents is claiming your husband on their taxes than they add him also and then it would be 4.

Does NVC inform us through email or something that they've received our documents?

You should get CC in March. Hang in there. Yes NVC sends email saying they received your documents and give them 30 days.
