Hi kk1. So sorry this is happening to you.

I have heard about this case before. In certain places in India, documents are only issued in English. In other places, they are issued in both Urdu (I think) and English. Obviously, the person working your case believes that your original documents are in some language besides English. In fact, the manual they are using might even state this.

Can you find something - a law book, a document online, or something similar, that states that the official language of your State is English? If you can prove that your original documents are in English, then you should be OK.

It will definitely be a fight, as the clerks will only believe what's in their manual - even if the manual is incorrect (it happened to us). We had to PROVE that the manual was incorrect.

Best of luck to you. Again, I know this has happened to other Indians...and they have finally gotten through.

Hi Sukie,

Thank u for taking time to respond to my question. You are do kind. I've got my case complete today. The supervisor has called my husband on a Sunday morning saying my case is complete. They took 7 months for the case to my complete. I'm not sure if my greencard application will be approved but this news what I've been waiting to hear from months.May God bless you and have a happy new year.

Hi Dwheels76,

Thank u for taking time to respond to my queries. I was frustrated for the last 2 weeks and do stopped checking the status. I've managed to speak to a supervisor last week but she said I have to wait etc. But she also said they would call my husband when the case is complete. And so they did today. On a Saturday morning, a call from NVC saying my case is complete. I'm not sure if I will get my green card approved but this is the best news I've heard in 4 months. Thank you so much for your help. May God bless you. NVC took 7 months to complete my case.

WOW on a Saturday they called the petitioner that's pretty special. So what embassy New Delhi or Mumbai? I need to add you to the spreadsheet.

Congratulations. :goofy: That's got to be a great relief.

And you are most welcome it's my pleasure.

Mumbai... yeah I was actually shocked when my husband has sent me a msg saying that he got a call from NVC and they've said the case is complete... I didn't know they work on Saturdays... to be honest I used to call them everyday and be very polite... may be they've read the notes and understood how desperate I was...It was nice of them to do that... saved my weekend... One other thing is I don't see 3 N/As on CEAC yet... we are exempt from AOS fee and documentation as mine is a follow to join... not sure if the status changes to N/As at all... Edited by kk1

I have my medical tomorrow and I had fever all day today because of swollen lymph nodes under my jaw. Should I cancel my appointment for tomorrow or not?.

I would call and see about changing the medical appointment, depending on how long you'll have to wait for the next appointment.

When is your actual interview? If your medical isn't ready in time for the interview, you'll get a 221(g) saying your visa cannot be issued until they've received your medical.

Only the embassy knows that. They need to assign a date or give NVC some dates for them to assign.
