So, after my Fiancee arrives in the US,

1. how long will it take to get her green card, and

2, how long must I remain over the poverty level 125% for household of 2 for 2016... (working two jobs) before I can safely quit the 2nd job, because we truly wouldn't need the extra money anyways. I basically just want to know how long I must work a 2nd job and stay over the poverty level. -_-

Many thanks!

:)

1. varies. here's the trail:

arrival, marriage, file for AOS, AOS granted, greencard arrives.

Some people decide to chase the EAD with the AOS set, instead, and with an EAD card, that human can fully participate in USA society. Why? The EAD card arrives 90 days after filing the AOS set, but a greencard arrival? Figure 4 months to 18 months, depending on which service center the casefile was routed to, and if an interview is done, or no.

2. Study the I-864, as you'll be using the I-864 when filing the AOS set - IMO, though - since you need to show:

__a. prior year income and

__b. current year income,

then for your exact question - I suggest you maintain the income until the green card arrives.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Alright so I have a job as a Professional Paid Fundraiser, we have 2 teams the A and B teams. A-team is reserved for our seasoned and best fundraisers. We get tons of donations by phone which is why people love us. Anyways I make $15,300.00 a year. $8.00 an hour $320.00 a week on B Team. If I got to A team, I'd make $8.00 an hour too, but they also draw commission on sales, A-team they earn an average of $500-$1100.00 a week on their fundraising. I have only been working this job for going on 4 months now, and I want to get on A-team but I want to know if I did get on A-team and made commission and showed it on my Pay Stubs, if USCIS/US Embassy in Bangkok would agree that I make $125% of the poverty level without having to wait until next year to show it on my Taxes. I just filed my taxes for the first time this year, and I also want to know if they would accept this as being above poverty level? I ask because i've been struggling to find a 2nd job, and I have had no luck getting a joint sponsor.

Thanks, CBB

Commission is not steady income

Comission CAN count, if it is steady and reasonably reliable; it is one of these things where having a year's worth of paystubs with the comission being at a similar level all the time helps.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Yeah no one on A-team hardly ever doesn't make commission. So this is good right?

What I meant is that its easy for A-team fundraisers to meet commission every week, so what do you think of that?

Is is possible if I were to get commission and maintain it for a 3-5 months that the embassy and USCIS would approve of it being 125% of poverty level or would i have to work a whole year?

It's possible- a lot will depend on the embassy and I don;t know enough about the US embassy in Thailand to comment.
