Hi everyone,

On November,30th my wife had citizenship interview which she cleared.She was told by immigration officers that she will recive her Oath letter by mail but hasn't received as yet.We have to fly Pakistan last week of January. Unfortunately her 'country'passport is expired (It will take a longer time for renewal of passport ?) I do not know what to do.I have already purchased Air ticket.We contacted USCIS twice they do not have any information about that.Does any one know how and where to contact for early scheduling for Oath date,so i can approach them and explain her situation. Kindly please respond if any one has any adviceor experience.we will be very grateful. Thanks to all!!

You can try an Infopass; bring evidence of the extreme situation that requires you to fly, and that may be enough to try and get them to schedule you quickly.

Either way, without either a US passport or a Pakistani passport, she will not be allowed to board the aircraft.

Even if her oath was tomorrow, I do not think she would have a US passport in time for the last week of January unless you super expedited it (like going to one of the US Passport agency centers).

As you say, same-day passport issuance can be done at one of the regional passport centres if you can provide proof of travel. You can walk in and literally have a US passport in your hands a couple of hours later.

Make an Infopass appointment at your nearest USCIS office. That puts you in front of a person who can make things happen.

I would try and get her passport from her country renewed. I wouldn't bank on the oath ceremony date

My husband had to go to the Pakistan Consulate in Los Angeles to get his passport renewed this past summer. Service has gotten much better there. They said it would take a month to get his passport, but he got in within 2 weeks. No guarantee your wife would get it in time, but worth a shot.

Pretty difficult, I wonder. Getting the US passport means taking the Oath first, and then waiting on the passport, even if it is expedited, that's pretty close to the wire.

I don't know, but at an info pass you would need to show proof of urgent travel? What sort of an emergency have you notice of so far ahead?

They changed things last month and you can NOT walk in anymore. You must have an appointment. I had to deal with this 2 weeks ago for my Nephew who had let his passport expire. You do not have to go to your local one if there are not any close appointments and you can schedule and travel to any of them which is what I ended up doing by driving 200 miles each way. On the plus side, it is still same day service.

can you help me i want to share my interview experience my interview was 29 dec 2015 and CO ask me 20 plus question i did all questions of K1 visa so after all CO said everything is okay and good, your passport will be deliver through AMEX with in two weeks.

my question is that he never said me additional doc and no give me any paper like green or white only said me like that everything is good and your passport will be deliver through AMEX with in two weeks. Mostly i seen that co said after the interview your visa approved but he did not ask me like that whats that mean?

Bha g, why don't you approach pak embassy and have them renew her pp as a case of emergency.
