Igor's List & November NOA1 filers :)

I noticed on Igor's list that 11/24 filings were being reviewed but yet when I clicked over there were no NOA1's with that date and precious few in November past mid month..

Of course the personal timeline is 100% accurate so I am very surprised to see that one day past my range I still have not seen the NOA2 ;)

Curious how many people that have filed in November have received their NOA2?

At 52 I am as impatient as a 16 year old.. If my fiancé were in Europe (10-11 hours) or Hong Kong (15 hours) then no problem, I would be on a flight once a month.. But with a 40 hour average flight/travel time I have been back for almost two months and am dying to fly over again but the time costs and travel expenses followed by huge loss in business production are prohibitive.

I am hoping that since all the data here is taken from what people here have reported that many of you or at least some of you have got your NOA2's if you filed in November.. My NOA1 was 11/23 :)

We tried to get married twice while my husband was living in Serbia in the past two years. The first one, they wanted a special paper we didn't know about. The second time the woman judge actually rolled her eyes at my husband when she saw my passport was from USA. She told him the marriage application has to be displayed for two weeks to make sure we are really divorced people...can you believe it? We ran out of time.

He moved back to Pakistan, where I finally went this past October, and we were able to get married. Now we are trying to file the CR-1. He sent two packets through registered mail---one came almost 2 weeks ago, the other hasn't arrived yet. They say they can't track it....grrr...of course it's the papers that have to have original signatures. And being from Pakistan, I can only imagine the AP he is facing. I feel your pain about the cost of visiting. I have visited him 6 times in the past 3.5 years...I'm 64, so I am like you (except worse...lol)...I feel like time is running so fast, I will be dead with old age by the time he gets here. Keep the faith!!

I kept a daily watch on all NOA1 on Nov 2 (152 petitions filed on that date). The VJ expected date to review was 4-7 Dec. By 7 Dec only 30% had been reviewed. By the 15th Igor's date of review had moved past Nov 2 even though by that date on 38% had been reviewed. It is now 30 Dec and there are now 60% reviewed from Nov 2.

Mine happened on 24 Dec--50 days.

Suggestion is to only use Igor's list and data as a reference, no more. No need to get bent over it. Just know that you have a 30% shot of being reviewed on the predicted date range.

Also I was unaware that USCIS publishes marriage and divorce statistics. Learn something new every day!

Here it is:

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) reports that “…marriages arranged through [mail order bride] services would appear to have a lower divorce rate than the nation as a whole, fully 80 percent of these marriages having lasted over the years for which reports are available.” The USCIS also reports that “… mail-order bride and e-mail correspondence services result in 4,000 to 6,000 marriages between U.S. men and foreign brides each year.”

Thanks, I of course was watching your timeline and saw that ..:( if we are the same then I will be another 2 weeks.. Tuesday January 12th.. Usually I am very lucky and am hoping to be in the 30-38% that get done early..:)

Hoping that the Visa center gets it all to your consulate fast so that you and Aisha can be together asap!

Maddening how uncertain this all is.. Government is never very efficient at anything and if this were a private company we would probably be measuring in days rather than months..

I wish this process was like passports.. Pay extra and get it expedited.. $10,000 would be reasonable and I would still save money when I figure travel into the process. I am sure that the lady who is 62 has spent a lot more than that on travel and it isn't cheap as most places cost at least $1500 just for the airfare (well in advance) not to mention lodging, food, transportation etc.

Surprised that nobody has suggested that in government?

Mail order brides? How demeaning. Does our government actually use that term? Far as you know you can't pick up a catalog and ORDER a person.

Actually you can... you can go to any of 100 plus marriage and dating websites.. make a connection and then ask them to marry you. You never have to even meet in person under certain criteria but most do. I have had one cousin and one friend do that.

While I was on some of those sites I never had much luck meeting someone compatible with me.. I met my Dr. fiance when I was on a charity trip to her country and I just happened to stumble into a Mormon church on a Saturday (with detached retina's) and she was sitting there....;)

Right now I could care less about the provenance ( how we found them) and am totally engaged in getting mine, yours, and anyone who truly loves someone abroad's loves here with us.. Would be together there happily if I could make enough of a living because at the end of the day I just want us to be....together..anywhere and I can do good in the world and help my fellow man while serving God anywhere :)
