my friend he is a US permanent resident has applied to bring his wife ..

been waiting for the decision for almost 5 months .. and no approval yet,

does anyone know how long does it take to finish all the process to bring her here ??

hes a little worried about it ..

yes they got married after he became a permanent resident .. he was married in the US before and this is the way he became a permanent resident . but he got divorced from the 1st wife

well it takes a while to process the paperwork. he just needs to be patience and have his fingers crossed everything will go smooth

If he got his permanent residency less than 5 years ago, he needs to be aware of INA 204(a)(2)(A), which generally bans a permanent resident (who is still currently a permanent resident) who got permanent residency through marriage less than 5 years ago from petitioning a spouse, unless they show to the government's satisfaction that the prior marriage was not entered into for the purpose of evading immigration laws.
