My observations here lead me to believe that it's such a bad thing if your dating site is classified as an IMB. What's so bad about stating that the website you met on is an IMB? I check-marked "Yes" to asiandating.com to being an IMB and had no issues with my petition. So why all the fuss? Why not simply mark yes, and save yourself some pain and paperwork?

If they determine you met through an IMB they may ask for or require a copy of the consent form that the IMB is required to obtain from your fiance. Producing a copy of tat consent form can be an issue. Much better to be sure you have a copy of the website terms that can show the web site is not an IMB.

May I ask what an IMB is?

An IMB is an "International Marriage Broker," or a company that specializes in mail-order-brides. However, as defined by the USCIS, it's any website where one pays for online dating services to meet potential foreign spouses..

Ah, I see! I got lucky then as they did not ask my wife for any consent form.

Asiandating.com is NOT an IMB. They charge the same membership fees for all it's members regardless of the country they are in.
