K1 Visa - NVC Received - Poss 77 Days to process?????

Having read the Guide posted to the UK Thread, I called the NVC after waiting a couple weeks from receiving my NOA2.

I spoke to a very pleasant lady and asked re my case and if she could supply me with my new case number.

She confirmed that they had received my application, however it takes THIRTY FIVE days to type up the application and a further FORTY TWO days to process it....

The Guide at the top of this forum states that the Application takes a short pit stop at the NVC... 77 days is slightly longer than a short pit stop.

I have complete confidence in the Guide as other applicants already have their new Case Number from the NVC who applied the same time as me.

she must be wrong... right? Tell me she was mistaken and its not going to be 77days to get my new Case Number?

Hi, I am from Romania, and I called NVC and they told me the same exact information. The following day I called again, spoke with a different lady and surprise surprise she told me that they assigned a Case number and moreover the petition has already been shipped to the Embassy in Bucharest. SO call them everyday, if you have time :goofy:

Also, not to mention that it took just 3 days to arrive at the Embassy.

Yeah, every NVC rep will give you a different answer. She may have been confused with immigrant visas since I know it takes a while to process and input those into their system.

K1s are just sent directly to the embassy from NVC so there is no reason for them to be at there for so long.

Pay no attention to it. Call within a week or so, or you can keep driving yourself crazy by calling every day. :P At any rate, it will not take that long.
