I had my interview a few days ago. The CO asked a few questions and he said "everything looks good and we will let you know after 4 weeks we need to do some back ground checks." I need your comments/advise as to what that means. Is my case approved? The case status is still in "Ready" status in the NVC site. And also, he kept my passport but never gave me a any receipt to collect the passport.

Thanks.

It may mean you are under administrative processing. They said to wait until 4 weeks for background checks am I right?

Just keep on checking your status on the ceac website, once it says issued, then get ready to contact them on how to collect your passport with visa in it.

Your case will go from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing," which is basically what the CO said, background checks. That said, expect AP for Pakistan to be longer than 4 weeks due to all the K-1 wife terrorist drama in recent US news.

Congratulations and good luck!
