http://news.yahoo.com/muslim-woman-created-talk-muslim-160215168.html

Very often, when faced with injustice, people will take a stand. Well, one woman decided to make a stand.

In a Facebook post, Mona Haydar described her decision to step out of her comfort zone and into the public. Armed with a box of doughnuts and coffee, Haydar constructed a stand outside a library in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with signs saying "Talk to a Muslim," "Free coffee and donuts," "Free conversation" and "Ask a Muslim." Her husband, Sebastian, created the signs.

There's lots of Muslims that have made videos telling us exactly what they think. What gives her the real Muslim status over an extremist? Who decides?

Don't think anyone can make that determination. But I see this as an attempt to try and bring understanding to people who just don't know. It's a shame she has to do this, but it has to start somewhere.

It's note a shame at all. It's called being proactive. She's taking the initiative and trying to be a vehicle for some resolution. Good for her. But she only really speaks for herself or her denomination. Can she answer questions about the rampant discrimination against females in Muslim countries? Nope.

You should ask her that. And it shouldn't fall to one person to explain what Islam is. If people want to know, pick up a Quran, or hit up a local mosque.

Asking her would be like asking a baptist what Christianity is about. You'll get their answer and not necessarily the same answer you'd get from a catholic. And reading the bible wouldn't give you 100% insight on what different factions of Christianity are about.

So if you want to speak about those issues, why don't you go over there and ask a Muslim living there? Not being mean, just saying how it seems that no matter what Muslims do, there's always shade being thrown at them. They can't win for losing...

You could say the exact inverse of that and it would be true.

please do not confuse culture with Islam. I have been to muslim countries... ask them from their cultural aspect not religious one. Also remember that Arabs make up minority of muslims. ;-) Edited by FarrahIdir

Huh?

It is just one muslim. Hardly a majority.

The sign says ask a Muslim, not majority.

I was about to ask the same thing. That guy went Viral then threatened to blow up a member of Parliament. Not the band

I have said it before and I will say it again:

There is NO such thing as "islamophobia". Get over it.

Hating/fearing Muslims is no different than any general prejudice or racism directed at anyone else. Muslims in that sense are not "special" or singled out. They don't need a special name solely for their situation. It doesn't exist in my lexicon anyway.

Next.

Apparently not everyone hates muslims in this country:
