HI

so i recently got married to my husband and Im filling out the forms for adjustment of status(i'm currently on F1 visa). I need to go for medical soon for the I693 and I got self harm scars. Here is my story:

I was a major "princess" when I was younger, more like a spoiled little . I took my parents for granted alot and when I was 14 i cut myself just to hurt/spite. Now i regret that decision as now im older, I realized how much they do for me and I was a terrible person. I have grown since that day but have the scars to remind me of my parents pain. I have the scars on both arms but i covered up with tattoos now. It is still very visible through my tattoos and and if someone ask I would usually respond as "I was a little to my parents." I was never on any medication and never went for therapy because I wasn't depressed or anything. I only did it once.

I know I sound like a horrible person but Im not the same kid as before, I have matured and able to accept rejections and no longer a self absorb teen. Will my stupid mistakes of the past affect my application?

If the doctor asks you anything about that, be truthful and tell him your story. And be sure to be consistent with that story if asked again at the interview.

I have read stories on here about people "lying" to the doctor and it came back to the interview to bite the person.

It will be up to the doctor to order a psych evaluation but you don't have to beat yourself up over an assumption...wait until the time comes.. good luck.
