Timing of interview

I know that you should arrive at your interview at around 7:30am (or perhaps earlier?) but how long does the entire process normally take? I am planning to buy a plane ticket to have my fiancee fly out on the same day (around 7pm or 8pm) and would like to know if this is cutting it close or ill advised.

In addition, I am having her do her medical on January 11 and have scheduled the interview for January 22. I am hoping that this is enough of a gap between the medical and interview given that they recommend 5-7 days difference (but elsewhere I have read 7-10).

Thanks!

Your fiancee is flying out to her hometown in another part of PI? Or are you thinking that she would be leaving for the US?

Sorry, to clarify, by "fly out' I meant for her to go home to Davao, not fly to the US.

We had a 7:30 appointment time (Nov. 23). We arrived about 7:15, and were done before 2 p.m. Your mileage may vary.

Traffic around NAIA is horrific. Last week the shuttle from Terminal 1 to my hotel across from Terminal 3 took 2 1/2 hours, and that was starting at 11 p.m. I think you've got a good chance, but it is not a sure thing.

Tell your/her cab driver to take the Skyway, and that you'll pay the toll (perhaps 200 PhP?). That could easily cut an hour or more off your transit time from embassy to airport. Terminal 3 (Cebu Pacific) is much faster to get to than Terminal 4 (Air Asia). It may not be intuitive, but the 7:45 p.m. on Cebu Pacific from Terminal 3 is more likely to make than the 8:10 on AirAsia from Terminal 4.

Also tell your driver to cut through Newport City on Newport Blvd. to get to the traffic circle faster than if they just stop-and-go along NAIA "Expressway" (i.e. parking lot). Once at the circle, the driver should get in the left-most lane, reserved for Terminal 3.

Arrive about 30-45 minutes early for your interview should be good. Flying back home at 7PM shouldn't be an issue either.

The embassy website states 5-7 days for the time between medical and interview, a little longer for sure isn't an issue. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done 5-7 working days prior their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila; failure to complete the exam within the prescribed time frame may result in significant visa processing delays.

It's better to arrive early on the scheduled interview. Time duration for the whole process may take 4-5 hours or so.

Hi,

I wont suggest getting there too early as that was our mistake when we arrived before 5am and end up waiting outside for so long. Just make sure she's there before 7:30am, the process is really quick, me & my 5 kids were done by 12 noon (K1 K2)

Hi! I had my interview yesterday. I flew all the way from Davao Jan. 7, 2016 at 6pm. Reached my hotel around 9pm. I stayed at Bayview Park Manila Hotel. January 8, 2016 - interview day. Was at the Embassy by 5am for a 6:15am schedule. Line is already long but I had a good spot in the line. Done the whole process 9:30am. Went back to my hotel, availed my free breakfast buffet and had a late check out by 1pm for free for my 5:30pm flight back home. I dont wanna spend another day in Manila because I know for sure January 9 will be a verry traffic day due to the parade of the Black Nazarene.
