I'm not American Samoan---CR-1 Question

Hi---On our marriage certificate, the people at the marriage registration office in Islamabad put that I am "American Samoan." My hubby said she isn't that, but they said that was the only choice given on their software. They told him they have done this before and had no problems. Do you think this will cause a problem for us?

Which registration certificate? The Nadra one or the Nikah one? Your question got me curious and I looked at both mine but my nationality isn't listed on either one. But my POC card says "American" under nationality and that is issued by Nadra. That is a concerning question.

I have no idea what those are...sorry. My husband got it all translated. All I know is that one is a marriage certificate and one is a marriage registration paper. It's on the registration papers where it says "Nationality." But my passport number is on the paper, so I don't know why I would have any issue...I hope...

I can't really see it being a problem. USCIS is who verifies your citizenship so I can't see how it would matter.

The Nikah is the Urdu one that you sign at the wedding and then it's registered with the Nikah registrar. That is the legal one and the one that usually needs to be translated.

The Nadra one is a government issued one that is a short form with names, dates, etc, and is in both Urdu and English so no translation needed.

From what you said, it sounds like he is talking about that Nadra one. I don't have a nationality listed on mine at all which is weird because you think they would all look the same! I don't think I'd worry about it much. :)
