AOSupport only with savings, no tax return or income

I just sponsored my wife and I needed to submit 6 months of pay stubs, the original 2014 W2, copies of my 2014 tax return. Each sponsor will need to provide that information to the NVC. I sent a photocopy of the W2 and they notified me saying they want an original. It's optional but you can also send in the last 3 years of W2's and tax returns but since you never filed taxes you won't be able to . When you do you're figuring, make sure you take into account minor children, your fiancee, and yourself.

As previous members outlined, you must have a valid reason to not have filed taxes, for example, making below the minimum amount required to file taxes. With regards to qualifying based only on savings, the NVC might not have a problem with that but the consulate might be picky and ask for a joint sponsor that has a job with a steady income above the poverty guidelines. In my case, my joint sponsor was self-employed and had an income slightly above the poverty guidelines but almost a million in assets and savings. The NVC, though they still approved that joint sponsor, advised me to get another one because they prefer seeing income rather than savings.

I did this on assets only. It was not difficult and very straightforward. Though I was working overseas, there was no US job prospect on the distant radar at the time. My "income" was entered (zero) because of that. I think that you are going to be OK.

It depends on the consulate. Montreal, for example, is picky about the AOS and gives 221g forms even if the income is a few hundred or thousand ABOVE poverty guidelines. I've read about COs giving problems go those qualifying only on savings/assets. Read reviews about your consulate.

I did this on assets only. It was not difficult and very straightforward. Though I was working overseas, there was no US job prospect on the distant radar at the time. My "income" was entered (zero) because of that. I think that you are going to be OK.

No, you're looking at the right place. My consulate reviews, for example, specify how the CO scrutinizes AOS forms. It all depends on the consulate and how strict they are. My advice would be to have a backup joint sponsor just in case.
