Seniors,

I recently got married to a girl in India and I am US Citizen. On, USIS website I see marriage certificate is required with the two forms (I-130 and G-325A). Some other people are saying I need way more documents to send along with these two forms. I am unable to find a list of the extra documents. Could you be kind and tell me what other documents I need to send? Thanks in Advance.

The required documentation is listed on:

-page 2, section: What Documents Do You Need to Show That You Are a U.S. Citizen?

-page 2 & 3, section: What Documents Do You Need to Prove Family Relationship?

But you should really read the whole instructions carefully.

I am a little confused reading under this What Documents Do You Need to Prove Family Relationship?

What this means? Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship. (Each affidavit must contain the full name address, date and place of birth of person making the affidavit, his or her relationship to the petitioner of the beneficiary, if any and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge of your marriage.

The affidavits are just one example of things you can send to prove a bona fide relationship. The greater the variety of items you include, the better. Photos of the two of you together, plane tickets, hotel bookings for the two of you, financial documents (joint bank accounts, etc) are other examples.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

My English is still not perfect. Can you please explain the verbage in the sentence above. Thanks a lot.

You need to provide prof that your relationship is genuine, that you married for love, not a green card. So you need to provide whatever you have that proves you are a genuine couple.

Hi i can't remember all of the documents my husband sent to USCIS but the evidence for bona fide relationship we sent some pictures like three pictures. My visa is CR1 and my case is in London I think you will have to send more pictures, airline tickets any other evidence because you need a lot more proofs for India and other countries like pakistan. Affidavit is good it helps. Send anything which you think can help your case. ;)

Affidavit deends on who makes it

i stayed with his family in Morocco for each visit so there were no hotel receipts, i did an affivadit to say this here in US / his mom did one in Morocco saying the same thing. Examples of affidavits are online / just google AFFIDAVIT

If your wife has any done in India, she would need them to be written in her native langauage and translated into English / USCIS and NVC want both

All documents coming from India including marriage licence need to be in native language and a copy translated into English

Affidavit is good it helps.

Affidavits carry little to zero weight in the overall evaluation of a file. Unless you are light on evidence of time spent together in-person, skip the affidavits.

I have a marriage certificate from India and lots of wedding pictures. Me and my wife flew to hill station and room was booked under my name. Will this be enough? It's hard for me to do other stuff listed above as I am back in US now. Please suggest.

They understand that you cannot have much financial co-mingling when you live apart. Show evidence of you visiting eachother, and communicating (selection of emails, phone bills etc).
