Hello! Merry Christmas! I have a quick question. My fiance and I have filled out Form I-134. We have a co-sponsor. He currently resides in another city and will not be living with us when my fiance arrives. My fiance will be moving into a house hold of 7. (Myself and unborn child included) We currently receive financial assistance. (My parents do) and I am under them, but once I get married to him, we become our own household even though we live with my family? Also when the government looks at our income which will basically be mine since he can not work until he has his SSN, we will not get any assistance because of the affidavit of support? Sorry if this seems jumbled. I am confused myself. Also just incase anyone asks why I live with my parents or something I am 18. :) Any help to clear this up would be great. I hope I will not lose my insurance. I just want to know what is going to happen once we get married.

hi

yes, you will be a household of 3 once your child is born

so it depends on when you marry and file the adjustment of status packet, if your child has been born, your household size will be 3

you can get assistance for you and your child, not for your husband, I presume you will also have a joint sponsor for the adjustment of status once you marry? Will it be the same person or are you looking for someone else?

you might have to find some other type of assistance

So basically I currently have medicaid through my parents. Once I get married I will be dropped from that. Would I be able to qualify for it again? And we do have a joint sponsor right now and he will be the same person. Does the government look at his income and count it as that is what we are getting when me and my fiance get married? He won't live with us so I don't see how they will go based off of that and not who is making what in the household.

hi

you'll have to find out, what type of benefits can you get in your state. each state is different

he doesn't have income, he cannot work when he gets here, you will marry and later file for adjustment of status, the work permit can take up to 3 months, he also has to get his social security number

finally get a job, so you will still need the help of your parents

your parents have nothing to do with immigration,

you and your husband and probably child are one household, since you don't have income, you still will need a joint sponsor, you will file the i864, regardless of having $0 income and attach a letter explaining why weren't you required to file taxes

the other person from out of state can be a joint sponsor for your husband again
